This research proposal aims to critically analyze the impact of globalization on small to medium enterprises in the UK. It covers the benefits and challenges of globalization on SMEs, the relationship between global businesses and SMEs, and the impact of globalization on the labor market. The proposed research methodology includes a survey and systematic literature review. Ethical considerations and a Gantt chart for the proposed timescale are also included.

INTRODUCTION
Small and medium scale business are those business where number of employee fall below
certain level. In recent time small and medium enterprise plays an important role in developing
the economy of the nation. Their way of doing business has hugely impact on the way of
globalisation phenomenon. Globalisation is the process where two business of different nation
interact with each other and build trade relationship. But globalisation of business has so many
global issue which impact their operation. In recent time Covid 19 and the war between Russia
and Ukraine is the major global issue which largely impact the small and medium business
(Sigler and et. al, 2021). thus, the aim of the present research proposal is to critically analyse the
impact of globalization on of small to medium enterprises to develop on the market and their
ability to register profits. Global issue major affect the power of SMEs to earn profit from the
global market. This research will also provide advantage to small and medium enterprise as it
will cover various components some of them are increasing awareness about the external
environmental factors and it even has the possibility to help them respond proactively to possible
challenges or spot possible opportunities for them to develop (Badini, Hajjar and Kozak, 2018).
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The research question is being written down in the report because it helps researcher to
obtain basic understanding about the research topic. This answer is obtained by various
secondary data. The research question for the present investigation are:
 To evaluate the benefits of globalization on small to medium business scale in the UK.
 To evaluate the challenges caused by globalization on small to medium business scale in
the UK.
RESEARCH AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Research aim
The major aim for current research is to critically evaluate the impact of globalisation on small
and medium business scale in London.
Research objective
The objective which is being covered in present investigation are:
 To evaluate the benefits of globalisation on small and medium business scale

 To evaluate the globalisation impact on labour market in relation to the small and

LITERATURE REVIEW
There are so many definitions that is being written down by many other but the best
definition of globalisation is explained by the Carnegie Endowment which is “globalisation is the
process of building interaction and integration between the people, companies and government
which belong to different countries (Abdullah, 2019). It is also a procedure driven for
international trade and investment which aids by technology. Globalisation also helps in human
cooperation that occur between two different national boundaries. The evidence overwhelmingly
shows that globalization promoted and supported the expansion of international companies, the
expansion of free trade, and supported material wealth creation. Globalisation has a huge impact
on small and medium enterprises. Small business is those were number of employee is less than
20 and medium business has the limit of employee till 50.
To evaluate the benefits of globalization on small to medium business scale in the UK.
As per the view of Luo (2021), there are various benefits of globalisation on small and
medium business of UK. The foremost benefit is it provide scope to the enterprise to increase
their market share. companies can sale their goods and services to the other country market other
than their own local market. Another advantage that can be obtained by globalisation is they can
acquire various technology which can helps them to reduce their cost of production by using
advance decides or equipment. Globalisation also helps the small and medium business to gain
advantage of economic benefit by intensification and stretching of economic interrelationships
across the globe. Not only this globalisation also helps the local businesses to enhance the profit
by selling their dog product in the national market and earn profit.

According to the view of Abdullah (2019), globalisation of small and medium enterprise
also involves various challenges which affect their business operation. The first challenge of
globalisation on small and medium enterprise is if there is a trade war between the countries then
their trade impact. Importing of raw material or exporting of finished product stops as well as at
that time company need to pay high prices for acquiring resource or product. Another challenge
of globalisation is that it gives birth to cut throat completion between the small and medium
enterprise. This global competition some creates a situation where the SMEs need to shut their
international business.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is that chapter of the investigation which helps to identify, analysis
and interpret data. This section assists the researcher to obtain answer for two major question that
are how data will be gathered and how it will be analysed. Research methodology helps in
attaining aim and objective in more accurate and appropriate manner. Different kinds of
philosophy and approach is used to gather and evaluate information as per the study (Mukherjee,
2019).
Research philosophy: There are two kinds of research philosophies which are positivism
and interpretivism. According to existing research topic, investigator will be choosing positivism
philosophy to collect and evaluate data. The advantage to select this philosophy is it will collect
and analyses quantitative data in more generalised form with less time and cost.
Research approach: Research approaches is classified into two parts that can be used by
researcher to test their theories i.e. deductive and inductive. In present research, researcher will
be selecting deductive approach. The main reason is that it will test existing theories with the
help of quantitative data. It also possesses the quality to identify the relationship between
variables (Bairagi and Munot, 2019).
Research strategy: There are various type of research strategies that are survey, systematic
literature review, action research, case study and many more that is used by investigator in their
research. In present investigation, researcher will be selecting survey research to gather
quantitative data. Another advantage is mass data can be obtained from large audiences in less
time and amount.

Research choice: Quantitative and qualitative are the two research choices which can be
used to know about the type of information need to be acquired. in existing research report,
investigator will be selecting quantitative method. the reason behind this is that numerical data
can be get which can be expressed in numbers. gathering and evaluating such information is
quite easier.
Time horizon: There are two-time framework which are cross sectional and longitudinal. in
present research, cross sectional time horizon will be used by investigator. This time horizon will
take less time to gather information and the data which is collected through this will based on
current time.
Data collection: Primary and secondary are the two data collection method. In present
investigation, both primary and secondary data methods will be used. Primary data will use to
gather first-hand information so that data analysis can be made. Secondary source will be used in
answering literature review to obtained solution for research question. The instrument that will
be used is questionnaire and systematic literature review (Ledford and Gast, 2018).
Data analysis: frequency distribution and thematic are the two data analysis method that
can be used to inspect and measure information. As per the present research study, frequency
distribution method will be used to evaluate quantitative data. The major advantage to select
technique is useful information can be obtained from raw quantitative data. Another benefit is
using this method is quite easier and also take less time to evaluate information.
Sampling: Probability and non-probability are the two sampling technique. In current
research probability sampling will be used to select respondent. The reason for choosing this is it
will provide equal opportunity to each and every participant to be selected. Further in this
random sampling techniques will be applied so that equal and fair chance to select participants
can be get. The sample size will be 10 applicants which will be small to medium businessman
(Säfsten and Gustavsson, 2020).
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Following ethical consideration is very important in the research to conduct the investigation
in societal way. ethical consideration is defined as a set of application which is followed by the
researcher in obtained information without harming any human sentiments. It assists the
researcher to act in ethical manner by following various belief and morale. It also helps the

researcher and individual to indulge in any vicious conduct or fight. There are various types of
ethics which need to be obey some of them are having informed consent through participants,
taking voluntary participants by application, not to harm anybody feelings and emotions,
confidentiality of data and many more (Eisend and Kuss, 2019).
PROPOSED TIMESCALE
Proposed time scale used in his investigation will be Gantt chart. Gantt chart is a project
management tool which is to tells about the various task that will be used in this along with the
starting and end time to complete activity.
