Introduction
Whenever people are involved together with the motive of accomplishing a task there is a need
for a supervising mechanism that ensures that activities are carried out in a controlled,
transparent, responsive and inclusive manner. The person in charge of governance has the power
of accountability and decision making. Governance function is required to ensure that all
stakeholders are taken care of and their interests are effectively represented while making
decisions. The five principles that indicate good governance are Legitimacy and Voice,
Direction, Accountability and Fairness (IOG 2020). Governance helps in establishing culture
and values in the environment in which the stakeholders come together and interact. It
establishes how the priorities should be set norms and strategic vision. Thus, the governance
function directs and oversee to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved and the activities are
carried in an ethical manner (International Bureau of Education n.d.). The term governance
is of importance whether the activity is for profit or not for profit. The organization may belong
to any type of industry or any sector.
Global Governance
Global governance is the term that advocates bringing together diverse resources and making
collaborative efforts to establish governance at a global level. It is more of a political concept
and is different from corporate governance the scope of which is limited to a specific
organization. Global governance aims to establish peace, justice, security and resolve conflicts in
trade and industry (Global Challenges Foundation n.d.). Global governance includes the
collaboration of institutions, policies, norms and procedure by the nation towards its citizens
with the aim of bringing more stability and order. However international cooperation is required
to achieve effective governance. The term global governance analyses the concept of a sovereign
