INTRODUCTION In an organisation there are several department or function who perform different tasks. Activities or task done by these divisions are in accordance of personnel’s academic as well as professional skills. This report will be going to discuss different department along with their importance. MAIN BODY Marketing Marketing division role is generally meeting customer’s needs and wants as well as making them align with organisational objectives. In addition to this, it provides assistance to company by impact in wider market and also by offering better services to customer which help in making needs and wants satisfy (Ayyagari, Demirgüç-Kunt and Maksimovic, 2011). For instance, marketing manager of Asda conduct research which provide assistance to them in identifying customers needs and wants in effective manner and also results in making satisfy. Finance Finance is the backbone of business because without inappropriate funds it will not be easy for business to conduct operations. This department is concerned with management of financial resources of business firm (Wing, 2016). In addition to this, finance division includesacquisitionand optimumutilisationof fundswhichare essentialfor smooth operationsinbusiness.Roleoffinancedivisionisgenerallyrelatedwithfinancial managementwhichmeanstrengthenfinancialposition.Forinstance,Asda’sfinancial conduction is good and transparent which is possible because of finance department. Operation/production Mainpurposeofproductiondepartmentisfacilitatingprofitableandsmooth production in company. Moreover, main role of division is to keep running business in effectual manner. If production in organisation het stop than it may hamper other functions also (Hawkins and Mothersbaugh, 2010). They also have to ensure that production have to be of good quality which result in making customer satisfy. For instance, Asda in multi brand business in United Kingdom which become possible because of their production and operation facilities.
Human resource HR department is responsible for managing each and every activity of business and employees also. In an organisation major role of HR is to fill vacant position by recruiting and selection process (HR practices, 2020.). Along with this, several other roles are also performed by HR division such as training, employee relation, managing grievances of staff and many more. For instance, Asda is supermarket chain at leading position and reason behind their success is effective Human resource management. Importance Itisimportantforanorganisationtohavedifferentdepartmentwithgood coordination as well as communication among them (Tiainen, 2019). Because without proper communication it will get impossible for manager to accomplish desired objectives, as every division work is totally depended on each other, for instance, production division should have to know forecasted sales from marketing department for initiating production. Apart from this, another example is that each and every department is depended on finance division for funds purpose (Mutheneni and et. al., 2017). Although, above mention examples clearly show that every division are interrelated with each other. CONCLUSION After going through this report, it has been concluded that in an organisation there are distinct department such as marketing, finance, operation/productions and human resources. Each and every division play important role within a business firm and when every division work together it results in accomplishing desired goals and objectives.
