Challenges Faced by Graduate Students: Analysis and SMART Action Plan

This report analyzes the challenges faced by graduate students, including the apprentice challenge, presentation challenge, and T-shirt challenge. It also provides a SMART action plan for developing skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and business skills.

INTRODUCTION
This report includes analysis of the different challenges that will assist in determining
different elements as well as how it will be performed. It has been identified that there are
different skills or capabilities of an individual that will lead to affect performance of person. In
this report different challenge such as apprentice challenge, presentation challenge and T- shirt
challenge has been determined in this report. A proper smart action plan has been developed in
order to identify and analyse different aspects to attain desired goals.
Evidence based research on key challenges
There are different challenges has been determined in this report which consist of apprentice
challenge, presentation challenge and T- shirt challenge. All of these challenges are mention
below –
The apprentice challenge – It has been determined that it is very challenging for a person to
work in a stressful work environment. In the apprentice challenge I have analysed different ways
to cope with a stressful working environment as well as enhancing work practices in order to
attain desired goal(Banava, Obadan‐Udoh, and Mertz, 2021). I have analysed that the major
challenge in this was to share duties. Due to this I was not able to perform task in accurate
manner. I have identified that my communication skills has assist me to make new friends as
well as share duties in accurate manner(Gray and et.al., 2021).
The presentation challenge – In the presentation challenge I have developed a
presentation on Tesco company. In this I was responsible to collect information as well as
present finding in a power point presentation (He, Whang and Kristo, 2021). I have faced various
issues and challenges while conducting this presentation. The topic on which I have to collect
information for the presentation includes introduction, current trends in the supermarket sector,
Tesco performance since 2015 and current financial performance of the rival groups that is Aldi
and Lidl. While conducting this presentation I have gain information about the different aspects

of Tesco company and this is one of the largest supermarket sector which is based in United
Kingdom market area(Lee, 2021).
The T- shirt challenge – This challenge is related to the development of unique and
different T- shirt. In this challenge I have develop a logo for T- shirt that is significant for
making a good or attract T- shirt design. I have determined that a logo of T- shirt lead to have
major impact on overall its looks as well as affect its attractiveness level (Novaes and Lamego,
2021). In the T- shirt challenge I was responsible for creating a logo for a T shirt that could be
wear by anyone which includes individual for infants to adults. So in order to make this T- shirt
attractive and unique I have develop a logo which represent the national currency of Romania. In
this I have to determine the target market area for this T- shirt. In this I have identified that target
market for T- shirt includes both online and offline purchaser. These T – shorts can be found in
shops as well as ordered online (Souza Krupek, Bonini Pires and Inveninato Carmona, 2021).

THE ANALYSIS OF THE CHALLENGES
On the basis of the above research work, an analysis can be made out that the there are
different set and forms of the challenges that comprises o the apprentice challenge, presentation
challenge and the T-Shirt challenge. It has been reviewed that the apprentice challenge is related
with issues related with the stressful work environment that are based on leading and having of
the issue related with the higher chances of chaos and conflicts at the workplace (Terhorst, and
et.al., 2021). Further, it has been analysed and review that presentation challenge is related with
the issues faced in leading an effective and attractive set of the presentation. It has been also seen
and reviewed that the lack of confidence along with having of the issue of ineffective
communication are also tend to be the main issue associated with the challenge of presentation.
Beside this, the T-shirt is related and associated with the issue of the having and development of
the unique as well as different style of the T-shirt. Thus, for meeting and overcoming the
challenge of the T-shirt it has been analysed that the development of the creativity skills is being
required to have the design of the attractive and unique set of the T-shirt (Wilkins-Yel and et.al.,
2021).
REFLECTIONS ON THE CHALLENGES
 Communication skills – This can be describe as the capability and potential of a person
to convey message and ideas to other in significant manner. It is essential that a person

have effective and strong communication skills so that I can deal with different
challenges in appropriate manner. I have determined that communication skill has assist
me to deal with different challenge such as apprentice, presentation and T- shirt.
Through strong communication skill I was able to cope with the stress working
environment in apprentice challenge. In presentation challenge communication skill assist
me to present ideas and message in more creative manner. where as in T- shirt challenge
communication skills assist me to convey the idea of Logo to other is better and effective
manner.
 Team work skills – This is one of the essential skills that was required in order to
successfully and effectively deal with the challenges as well as increase capabilities to
perform required set of task in better and accurate manner. Through effective team
working skill I was able to develop strong relationship with the work team member while
working in a stress working environment. This skill helps me to correctly perform duties
as well as able to help other team member as well in order to attain desired goals. In
presentation and T- shirt challenge team working skill is very helpful in order to
successfully completion of task.
 Time management – This can be representing as the skill or capability of a person to
complete all given task in right and proper time. time management skills are very crucial
in order to enhance productivity and performance level of a person. I have identified that
time management skills and meeting skills has been very supporting during the
challenges of apprentice, presentation and T- shirt challenge. It has been identified that
during apprentice challenge my time management skills assist me to complete given task
in right time and effectively working in stress environment. Through effective time
management skills, I was able to complete all task of presentation challenge and T – shirt
challenges.
 Business skills – These skills are very effective while developing presentation as through
this I was able to develop a creative presentation. Through the support of business skills,
I was able to successfully design attractive logo for t – shirt as well as determine target
market area. it is important for person to develop business skill in order to enhance their
capability and potential.

SMART action plan
This is referring as the action plan that will assist in prospering right and accurate direction
in order to successfully and effectively conducting required set of practices. SMART action plan
refer as the specific, measurable, attainable, reliable and timely completion of the desired
objectives. The use of the action plan is being made to ensure and have the development of skills
which are tend to be developed with help of training and development so that performance can
be increased in effective manner. The use of the below sated action plan is made to ensure the
effective development of the key skills:

CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that there are different challenges that needs to
be faced by the graduate challenge and this will lead to affect overall performance of an
individual. It is crucial that a person is developing different skills and capabilities in order to
successfully deal with the challenges as well as increase performance level. There are three
challenges such as apprentice challenge, presentation challenge and T- short challenge. It has
been determined that communication skills, team work skills, time management skills and
business skills are significant in order to deal with these challenges in appropriate manner.
