INTRODUCTION
The present reflective report will going to pay attention on three challenges which are
being faced by individual at the time of their graduation i.e. apprenticeship, presentation and
T-shirt challenge. Furthermore, the report will also include reflection on the skills being
acquired throughout these challenges and an action plan will be prepared at the end for
developing these skills over the next three years at the University.
THE CHALLENGES
Apprentice challenge
For enhancing our communication skills, our college as organized an apprentice
challenge where I need to work as a trainer and create company. Further, the brand or the
company was required to be marketed through adopting different marketing strategies.
During this challenge, I faced many difficulties. When I was allotted some task of conducting
marketing analysis of the brand I didn’t get sufficient amount of support from my immediate
colleagues who was acting as my immediate boss. I searched out for options to resolve my
problems and started communicating with my fellows to overcome this issue. In the last, we
all awarded a trophy for completing our task (Mishra and Marr, 2017).
Presentation challenge
As a part of coursework, we working in a group were supposed to give presentation
on the manner the customer is considering the brand or a company. As it was the time of
pandemic, we need to give our presentation virtually. I have prepared my presentation
effectively with adding different tables and charts. Nevertheless, I faced different issues while
presenting the same in front of large audience who comprises my peer groups, teachers and
experts from corporate world. The biggest challenge that I come across was distracted
attendees. As my presentation took long time to finish, I felt that attendees were unfocussed. I
also faced technical issues during my presentation as my external microphone didn’t picked
up when needed. I also lacked technical integrities which made me numb at that time. I
learned that I need to acquire presentation skills along with time management skills for my
future work.
T-shirt challenge
Numerous challenges were allotted to us as a graduate and this was quite interesting
challenge for all of us. In this, we have to work in a team and design a logo for the t-shirt
along with development of marketing plan. The main components of this challenge was to

gain expertise in sales, marketing as well as development of brand management.
Additionally, by development of logo on t-shirt we will reflect the elements of personality of
a brand. Further, the target market was being evaluated and it was the youth and middle age
professionals. We worked in a team and designed a t-shirt which represented the current
trends of sustainable business for youth. Finally, we have also planned ways of targeting or
reaching out target audience and it was through digital media.
THE SKILLS
Skills acquired in apprentice challenge
Communication skills – At times when the group members were taking out their ideas
for developing a brand, effective communication was seen between the members.
Teamwork skills – All the group members came together and work uniformly to come
up with different ideas for development of a brand. Though there were some who
started criticism but soon a consensus took place.
Time management skills – Time management skill was acquired when the task was
completed on time. We were supposed to complete our task in 7 hours and we did it in
given timeframe (Goleman, 2018).
Business skills – Business skills were also used by the team members for developing
and formulating a brand. A logo was also designed for the company along with varied
marketing strategies for the same.
Skills acquired in presentation challenge
Communication skills – It is acquired through giving effective presentation. As a
group or team, each and every one made sure that the voices were projected clearly
throughout the room. Despite of all technical issues and problems, I ensured that my
body language was good so that listeners and attendees can’t get disappointed.
Teamwork skills – Throughout our presentation, we also gained teamwork skills. This
pertains to the fact that we all had given presentation as a whole team and not an
individual. People supported each other and helped in case of any problem.
Time management skills – As my presentation took long time to finish, I felt that
attendees were unfocussed. However, we soon evaluated this and started covering up
the points. Because of this, we were able to finish out presentation on the given time
period. Further, the meeting skills were also achieved because there were many
people who have attended this presentation.

Business skills – with this challenge, I have learnt that presentation is regarded as one
of the most crucial skills for both personal as well as professional development. I have
acquired some technical knowledge as well as understanding of the ways of utilizing
Ms Excel, PowerPoint and other software while preparing for this presentation.
Skills acquired in T-shirt challenge
Communication skills – In this challenge, written communication skills were the main
area of interest. Effective written business communication was needed in searching
for the existing logo of the companies, writing marketing plan and report of the brand
management. Therefore, with this task in place, I revised my business communication
concepts. Additionally, the creative edge was introduction of the logo and it took most
of my time.
Teamwork skills – I was working with the same team that I worked with in the
presentation team. Consequently, the challenges were quite less as we started
knowing each other. Nevertheless, our team was inefficient in graphic designing and
thus, we faced difficulty in same. I took support from our seniors and rest of the
members worked on designing of logo and its financial planning. From the efforts of
the whole team we completed this task effectively (Conger, 2014).
Time management skills – As we have to complete this task on stipulated time period,
we allotted task among each other. Through delegation of responsibilities and
activities out challenge was completed on time. This recalled my concept of time
management of proper scheduling, effective delegation and dividing big actions into
small parts.
Business skills – Graphics designing, one of the important skills was acquired through
this challenge.
ACTION PLAN
While working and participating in these challenges, I got to know and learn different
types of leadership skills that is necessary for conducting business practically. It helped me in
learning the manner business actually works. Because I attended and conducted different
online meetings, presentations and worked with different types of individuals, I have also
learnt to handle and manage all tasks and importance of teamwork for the success of any
project or business.as discussed above, there are certain skills which I think I need to polish
over the coming three years in the University are time management, communication,
planning and leadership skills. An action plan for all acquiring all these skills is being

detained in the subsequent paragraph. Further, I will make sure that I will make use of these
skills to make improvement in myself and my capabilities.

completed. Further, it can also be acquired through
identifying along with distributing of resources in
an effective manner. Even establishing goals for all

Planning skills can be acquired by ascertaining
strengths and weaknesses of myself, as it will help
in finding the areas that needs to be polished. I also
need to accept the problems and novel ideas needs
to be executed effectively. Finally, I should make
continuous efforts.

Communication
skills
Communication skills can be enhanced by
interacting with other students in the college and
participating in activities such as seminars,
presentations and role model challenges. Seeking
help from the communicational classes can also
polish my interaction skill. Furthermore, active
listening with someone to whom I always disagree
is also required for improving my listening skills

Leadership skills
This is again regarded as one of the most crucial
skills that I need to develop. This can be improved
by actively holding leadership positions in
organizing some events at the University. Besides,
taking initiative in group activities and other
challenges organized in the college. Leading and
controlling interruptions in group tasks or teamwork
is also needed for improving this skills.

CONCLUSION
Consequently, from the above report it can be said that through all these activities and
challenges, I was able to acquired different skills and abilities. Additionally, I also got to
know about some of the skills which I need to polish and work upon. Apprentice along with
T-shirt challenge helped in boosting teamwork skills. In addition to this, these challenges
have highly valued problem solving skills as well. Thus, overall it can be said that for
ensuring improvement in my current and future skills, I need to reminisce these learnings and
must anticipate learnings new skills through action plan developed.
