3. What did you do while identifying new approach to solve problems and its outcome? While I was working in this group in way of achieving target of market research for retail sector of UK I came out with new approach to resolve the issue that are arising in group working. Like before I used to get panic while I was exposed to any kind of problem in my life which was certainly wrong attitude. So while I was a team leader I was supposed to solve all issues related to resources, targets and conflict between teammates. This was not the time to get panic and avoid problem which I was doing earlier. Whenever I faced any problem like for example there was a time when there was conflict among my teammates in regard to resources. So this situation was expertly handled by me just to avoid further expansion of this issues t6o my supervisor as well. I decided to uphold a team meeting to come on certain decision with taking views and ideas of others as well. This strategy was the best as per my concern that helped me to resolve the problems of resources that were over utilised despite of not having enough funds (McLachlan, Fleer and Edwards, 2018). So holding up of meeting with my fellow teammates was very much effective as I came up with new and great ideas of how to save over utilisation of resources and funds. 4. What did you do at time when you had to manage number of different priorities in completing task in short duration of time? While working in team there are lot of activities and task that need to accomplish that too within the given time frame as well. There are number of different priorities and time is very less for each of them to complete so this will be calling up for multitasking skill. I came to know during this group activities that I was somewhere lacking this skill within myself which I should develop towards the end. So for this I started listing up priorities for myself for about 1 month as we were given this time to complete our market research on retail sector of UK. After listing up of all priorities of which task is to be done before than other and what will be order of all task I distributed all these according to responsibilities of team members. I was given little time to conduct whole market research of UK’s retail sector and there was included lot of work to be done. The outcome for this multitasking skill was very good which started with prioritising all important task before then those which are less and then least important activities (Nieto, 2015). At the end all task and activities were completed within given time frame and resources. 6
5. What did you do at time when you worked on persuading others to your point of view and its outcome? As while working in this group and being team leader I always need to persuade others to comply with goals and objectives within the given time frame. My job in that team was to control and stimulate all my teammates so that they doing what I have assigned them and in the time allotted to them as well. Leadership skills helped me to motivate them all in order to achieve group goals and their individual as well. Within this communication is also another factor which helped me to persuade all my teammates according to my point of view the outcome to this was we were all able to achieve group goal with personal as well. I always use to stimulate others in group so that they are following what I have to say and doing as per my commandsonly.Controllingandmonitoringtheirfunctionsandtaskwasmypartof responsibility which I conducted in very proper manner. I also realise that communication and leadership are two most important factors while working as team which will be helping me achieved goal of team. 4. REFLECTION As I wanted to apply for Arcadia Group for Administration Assistant but I have never given any kind of interview before so I need to practice for this. Here are some reflective notes from my interview practice which are as follows: Once I have taken part in seminar of interview which was conducted by Arcadia group only which gave me chance to explore my capabilities of leadership, team working, communication and corporate writing. I was able to include that these are the most important skills that are required by me to grow and develop in this retail industry. The practice of interview which was very much required by me giving chance to give the interview for the same company. I will be getting very good opportunity for giving interview with exploring all sections of it what could be the questions asked, how I need to behave while giving an interview and what should be my salary expectation at starting of my career in this field. I was able to learn that there are many interview ethics and professional manner to conduct or crack it in first attempted only. After I was doing job with this group of company I will be able to pursue all my task and activities with having ability of leadership and communication. 7
