Research Title:
“ The impact of graphic learning over students of grade 9 at Montego Bay high school in
Jamaica.”
Background:
The title given to my action research is“ The impact of graphic learning over students of grade 9
at Montego Bay high school in Jamaica.”. A lot of the times, students learn more from graphics
than they do from the actual teacher, teaching in the classroom. It has been observed that
students are able to understand in depth about the subject and attain particle knowledge from it.
As per the topic, observation done upon positive and negative effect of graphic organizer on
student of 9th grade. The research has helped in me in understanding about the topic in detail. A
lot of the times, students learn more from graphics than they do from the actual teacher, teaching
in the classroom. With the implementation of collaborative learning in the English language
classroom, believe, students can develop their vocabulary.
According to (Basios and Loucopoulos, 2017)Graphic organizers can help students
organise their thoughts, find connections, and remember information. Visual representations
have a wide range of applications and can be used in a variety of professions. The manner in
which graphic organizers are used is governed on the purpose. For example, a CEO of a
company would organize his or her phone substantially differently from a college freshman.
Although they may utilize similar apps, their usage of these apps may differ dramatically. Many
organizers are useful for a variety of tasks. These organizers, like our application example, can
be divided into several groups based on their intended function. Graphic organizer options also
change as technology improves. "Collaborative learning has several advantages," says the author.
It boosts employee’s self-esteem and motivation, promotes complicated and cognitive thinking,
fosters positive attitudes among students and about education, and helps kids become more

responsible. The majority of teachers share this viewpoint. Students learn better in collaborative
groups than in typical classroom settings, they feel." With all of the benefits of collaborative
learning, I am confident that students can work together and learn from one another to expand
their vocabulary. As a former student of, I observe how collaborative learning in English A
classrooms for grade 9 students can aid in the development of their vocabulary.
As per (Barro and Davenport, 2019)When students are actively involved in the learning
process, they learn more effectively. Many studies have found that students working in small
groups learn more and retain it longer than students learning in other teaching settings, regardless
of subject matter. Collaborative learning, according to and can be used to deliver a more
inclusive and dynamic education for various learners. It has the potential to provide major
outcomes and advantages in the actual world." With that in mind, it is clear that collaborative
learning is both helpful and popular among students. When students work together, they learn
more. Working cooperatively in English language schools, I feel, can be a way for students to
learn more effectively.

than just looks, and it has a lot more advantages than just making something look nice. Its
relevance is frequently overlooked, but smart design can provide numerous business benefits.
Graphic design can help students of Montego Bay high school in Jamaica by enhancing visual
communication, giving it more power to inform, educate, and persuade students of Montego Bay
high school in Jamaica. Here are a few of the advantages which are Consistency and
Professionalism: Students are eager to make a positive first impression. In the eyes of the student
audience, the usage of logos, photos, and design can help develop a professional image of the
student. When used correctly, graphic design provides visual consistency across all student
initiatives, enhancing the identity and brand recognition of the student. Graphic design aids in the
creation of a student visual identity that embodies the mission and values within student. The
branding of a student business starts with a brilliant logo and extends to all aspects of student
business communications, including stationery, presentation templates, brochures,
advertisements, websites, and video. All of these factors contribute to the development of student
identity and brand recognition. The mission and values of the student should be immediately
apparent in the student brand. Communication Graphic design encompasses more than just

vocabulary.
Purpose of the study: The goal of this action research is to see how collaborative learning
can aid in the development of vocabulary in grade 9 through graphic within students at Kings
High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The second goal of this action research is to determine
the degree of academic performance of grade 9 English A students at Montego Bay High School
in Jamaica when collaborative learning is employed to increase their vocabulary. Also in this
graphics and their impact over studies of student has been covered which has made learning
become more easy and effective in nature (Antony, Kumar, and Madu, 2005). The purpose of
this action research is to see how collaborative learning can help students in grade 9 English A at
Kings High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica, expand their vocabulary. The second purpose of
this action research is to investigate the amount of academic accomplishment that may be
obtained when grade 9 English A students in Montego Bay, Jamaica, use collaborative learning
to develop their vocabulary.
Research Questions:
1). How can collaborative graphical learning help to develop the vocabulary of grade 9 English
A students of Montego Bay high school in Jamaica?
2). What is the level of academic performance when graphical learning is used to develop the
vocabulary of grade 9 English A students at Montego Bay high school in Jamaica?

Rationale for the study:
Mona is a former student of the Montego Bay high school in Jamaica and is now a student at the
University of Jamaica, where she hopes to become a teacher. I believe that when kids work
together, they learn and retain a lot more information. Even in grade 9, I observe pupils who
have difficulty with vocabulary. They have minimal to no vocabulary development. This, I feel,
is due to their lack of exposure to more collaborative learning. They are educated in a
conventional manner and do not always remember what they are taught. This, in my opinion, is a
continuing issue that must be addressed. That is why I have chosen to concentrate on this subject.
Collaborative learning, I believe, can be incorporated into the curriculum to help pupils increase
their vocabulary. Collaborative learning, in my opinion, is an important aspect of a student's
education. I also choose to concentrate on this topic because I believe it has yet to be adequately
addressed. Students, in my opinion, learn more, work better, and are more at ease working in
groups. I feel that there should be a place in the curriculum dedicated to collaborative learning.
Significance of the study:
The ministry of education, students, and teachers can all benefit from this action study.
The pupils would be the ones who would profit the most. I've always believed that collaborative
learning benefits students (Antony, 2006). I am one of those students who benefits from group
learning and retains a lot more material. I feel that pupils learn more effectively when they are
actively participating. This action research will assist the students by allowing them to learn
more from one another and expand their vocabulary. They will also be able to remember much
more information and will feel much more at ease while studying. Teachers might benefit from
new ideas to incorporate into their classes. They would also be seeing students being more
interested because they are involved. Their students would be getting better results and they as
teachers would have developed more creative ways to teach the students. The Ministry of
Education, would benefit by getting better results from the students. They would also be getting
new ideas that they can integrate in the curriculum to see more success.

incorporating different aspects and ideas, those same designs have the potential to influence our
belief and thoughts and feelings. Creative types are primarily visual orators, and typography is
also referred to as marketing communications. They use graphic arts tools to bring visual ideas to
life, as well as text, images, and pics to warn and communicate with customers. Fellow students
with their lecturers through graphic design. Design can be used to take cognizance of an idea
pertaining to a single research project. Graphic design can be highlighted in this section and a
piece of writing, because some of it is there for marketing gain.
Visual Learning: Visual learning, according to the Fleming VAK/VARK model, is a learning
style in which a student must see information in order to process it. Visual learners may use
graphs, charts, maps, diagrams, and other forms of visual stimulation to efficiently analyse
information. The Fleming VAK/VARK model includes kinesthetic and auditory learning as well.
