Mythology continues to influence modern society in numerous ways. Myths have been
utilized and adopted in music, art, literature, television and film, architecture, geography,
astrology, video gaming as well as in many other areas. It is essential that our society continues
to study myths to clearly understand our history as well as the thoughts of our ancient
civilizations and connect to the morals as well as lessons brought out via these stories.
Myths are just as important today as they were in the past years. This is due to the fact
that myths answer those timeless questions as well as serve as a tool for guiding the new
generation. Myths of great heroes, for instance, give young individuals hope to follow into their
adult lives as well as responsibilities in the society. Myths remain more like metaphors that
comfort and guide individuals as well as give them a sense of belonging. Greek mythology has
influenced western society in many ways. It has played great role in developing the English
language as well as phrases that we use1. Therefore, it is true that Greek mythology has shaped
the English language.
Myths also have an influence on modern architecture. Numerous structures around the
universe have been themed around mythology as well as its particular tales2. Hydra the Revenge
remains a roller coaster situated at Dorney Park as well as Wildwater Kingdom in Pennsylvania.
The theme of Hydra of the roller coaster remains based on the Greek mythical monster that
remained a serpentine with numerous heads. This monster was killed by the Roman hero known

been renovated and remodeled throughout the past 30 years. The structure comprises a bronze
sculpture of Pegasis. This structure remains one of the most famous creatures in Greek
mythology.
Conclusion
Currently, myths aid society better understand our history as well as the foundations that
it stands upon. Even though myths remain studied in a contemporary perspective, it remains still
allowing our universe to bring the past events to the present. Although myths remain not factual,
they often express the truth that enables us to relate to situation or character no matter what
generation we remain in. This is significance of keeping mythology alive. Therefore, it is true
that Greek mythology has encouraged popular culture and art.
