INTRODUCTION
This reflective report focuses on looking back and learning experience gained from the
group activity of creating presentation about setting up a new Mobile Shop which was named
Omega Mobile Shop and the group meetings conducted for completion of the activity in class.
This reflective report covers the opinion of four members on the group.
MAIN BODY
Team Member 1
The group faced difficulties in reaching and maintaining efficiencies. Initially there was
no coordination in the team and autocratic leadership style used by the leader increased
challenges in effectively working and presenting ideas. This resulted in late work and ineffective
implementation of plans and decisions. An ineffective team is characterized by unequal
participation and dysfunctional group norms (Yan and et. al., 2022). Finally it was mutually
decided in a team meeting that from now collaborative teamwork style will be adopted with the
usage of democratic leaderships style. This lead to every member equally participating in the
task and presenting their unique ideas about various aspectsof the project such as marketing of
the Mobile shop. I believe that democratic leadership style was time consuming but provided
positive results as each member of the team was able to showcase and implement their skills for
the project activity. This improved the overall quality of the outcome and also facilitated better
synergy between team members. I utilized whatsapp chat group to stay connected with my group
members at all times and tackle challenges which affected efficient teamwork. After changing
leadership style to democratic we were able to handle conflicts through group voting and prepare
more productive team. I learned abut the 8importance of leadership and adopting the suitable
leadership style for the team. I have completed 25% of work on the group activity.
Team Member 2
As the leader of the team during the group activity, I gained a knowledgeable experience
which will support me in my future academic and professional career. I was confident in my
ways as a leader and initially implemented autocratic leadership style because of my confidence.
Autocratic leadership involves a single individual having decision making powers. This created
conflicts between the team members as they believed they were not able to offer their opinions
and contribute effectively to the group activity (Radwan, 2020). In addition to this I decided

what need to be covered in class meetings which demotivated some team members as they were
not able to express their feelings about leadership and teamwork. The team was not functioning
effectively and productively because of these decisions. I adopted the democratic leadership style
and collaborative teamwork practice to change this course and move towards creation of a high
performing team. I was able to identify the skills of each team member and allot the
responsibility according to their skills because of their capabilities. This had a significant impact
on team productivity as we were able to chive targets in time and resolve conflicts quickly. The
team was able to use Whatsapp for effective communication and every team member was
engaged in the group after changes in leadership styles. From this experience I have learned that
the end result produced by a team is not only dependent on a single person but the overall effort
of each member is needed. Autocratic leadership style is also not always suitable for creating
high performing teams (Peker, Inandi and Gilic, 2018). I have completed 25% of work on the
group activity.
Team Member 3
The group activity of building an Mobile shop establishment in Dudley, West Midlands
offered me a unique learning experience. I was unsatisfied with the behaviour of team leader
initially as the autocratic leadership style involved enforcing orders without considering the
opinions of others. This lowered my interest in the group activity and limited my engagement
with other team members. I was used to reply late to the Whatsapp communication and felt
alienated during the team meetings. The group decision to change leadership style to democratic
leadership increased my interest in the activity as I felt that now I will be able to present my
ideas to the group. After hearing my unique marketing and promotional ideas I was given the
responsibility of coming with suitable and justified promotional, marketing and advertisement
options for the Omega Mobile Shop in Dudley, West Midlands. Apart from this the usage of
teamwork style further improved my communication with other team ember during team
meetings and Whatsapp Chats. I have learned that communication ad collaboration are key to
successful group activity. I have completed 25% of work on the group activity.
Team Member 4
A team activity needs to be completed in a way where sum of individual team member's
productivity is lower than the overall productivity of the team. This refers to maintaining high
synergy (Hasan and Hassan, 2021). I believe that high synergy is critical to completing any team

based task in a timely manner without compromising on quality. The autocratic leadership style
initially negatively affected the team synergy. The usage of democratic leadership style had a
positive impact on team, communication and collaboration. Ever team member including me felt
a change in team behaviour after adopting a new and more suited teamwork and leadership style.
Everyone made effort to maintain continuous communication with each other through the usage
of Whatsapp group chats and regular attendance to team meetings. This positively affected the
productivity of the team as each member was given responsibility according to their interested
potential. I was able to coordinate with the team leader and other members to fix any issues or
conflicts. The concept of graining consensus for decision making was very effective as each
team member followed the decisions made through this practice. I have learned that satisfaction
and involvement of doff rent team members is crucial for building a successful team. I have
completed 25% of work on the group activity.

style and identification of an appropriate teamwork style plays an important role in achieving
target of the team in a timely manner. In addition to this a suitable mode of communication also
needs to be selected to ensure that every team member is connected with each other at all times.
