Diabetes
It is a condition in which the blood glucose level of the person rises very
high.
It is very serious metabolic disorder that increases the risk of damaging the
eyes, heart, kidneys and blood vessels.
There are two types of diabetes that are: Type 1 diabetes and Type 2

The body organs can be damaged in this type as the insulin is not produced
and glucose levels are increased.
It is hereditary and can be diagnosed at very young age.

The body don not produce enough insulin or the body cells are unable to

Can cause kidney disease, blindness, heart disease and amputation.
Shortage of the Diabetic Specialist Nurses (DSN).
Lack in the access to the structured education programmes.
Lack in the coordination for the appointments.
Insufficient awareness of diabetes.

People with high risk of the Type 2 diabetes are supported by the NHS
Diabetes Prevention Programme.
