AIMS
The aim of the study is to understand the development of health in Oman. The report
discusses various challenges which the country is facing in its development of health and care
and in what manner it making use of its resources effectively. Surveys from 20 seniors doctors of
the hospital has been taken in consideration in order to understand the development and impacts
which it has been causes (Oman and Thoresen, 2015). Along with it, the report showcases in
what manner important developments are made in the country in order to achieve set health and
growth.
 To evaluate the health and development of the country and in what ways it has improved
itself to gain better healthcare
 To understand the importance of healthcare in individual growth and development and its
impact on the country's environment
 To find out what the senior officials working in the hospitals and healthcare setting think
about the developments
 To understand in what ways the country can improve itself in achievement of better
healthcare and gaining individual advantage
 To find out other options which can help the country to develop and promote healthcare
and better individual health in the country
LITERATURE REVIEW
Scenario 1 - Progress of Health and Development In Oman
According to the views of Thoresen (2015), health in Oman was one of the major issues
faced by the government since the late 70's. The government tend to face large situations while
developing itself in order to achieve set growth and development the healthcare of the country.
The history of the country is not good in healthcare situations. Along with it, the funds provided
by the government were very less and impacted the growth of the country's individuals. It is
important for the government to consider important factors in order to bring necessary change
and development in healthcare practices of the country.
Similarly, Al-Lawati (2017) stated that Oman is one of the largest Muslim countries
where individual health is still not a part of governments consideration. In order to improve such

situations, it is important for the country to understand at what places it is lacking healthcare
support and development. Rising healthcare situations in the country can impact the growth and
advantage of its population and can lower down its economy as well. It is important that Oman
invests required sum of money after evaluating the needs and requirements of the country's
healthcare. Along with it, it is essential that the government installs necessary healthcare setting
such as clinics, hospitals etc. in order to ensure better growth and development of the country
and its environment.
According to Alwahaibi (2016) and Zeka (2016) the national health policies such as
Health of All (HFA) and Primary Health Care (PHC) is committed to the health for the country
and global health as well. These strategies are covering the health finances and allowing the
individual across the country to make use of free healthcare services. It can be seen that the new
governments since the 80's have invested good money in development of the country's growth
and welfare both. These aspects have allowed the country to promote its healthcare services and
maintain strong advantage in developments of individuals overall health and welfare.
Scenario 2 – Its Vision for health and development in Future
According to the views of Al Noumani (2017) the major improvements in the healthcare
facilities and country's healthcare includes the practices of provision of comprehensive health
services which were primarily based on preventive, pro motive, and rehabilitative. These
practices made the country achieve growth and advantage along with ensuring new
developments as well. The equity in distribution of the healthcare services among different
populations according to their health needs often helped the country in developing its healthcare
facilities as per the need and requirements of its population.
Similarly, Yousif (2017) stated that community involvement in implementation and
planning of Oman new healthcare bills were majorly aimed at development of communities and
their self-reliance for the sustainable health developments. These developments brought forth the
new practices in which the country provided its individuals with new areas of healthcare choices
making them seek better health. Along with it, these actions taken by the government of the
country made the population safe and secure. Also, it developed the needs of the people in
making the society a better place rather than focusing on individual health and development.
Alattar (2017) and Fekihal (2017) states that the cooperation of internal sectors often
made country develop its healthcare facilities and advance itself in promotional activities of

health to the people and related services. These actions improved the overall health and welfare
of the community and the people residing into it.
Similarly, the views of Syme (2018) explores that the Sultanate of Oman has entrusted
the Ministry of Health (MOH) with the responsibilities of coordination and stewardship of the
health sector. It has been seen as an important aspect of the country to achieve better services to
the individuals in order to gain better safety and security. The Armed forces of Medical Services
(AFMS) and Royal Oman Police Medical Services (ROPMS) have often helped the country in
meeting set needs and requirements of individual health and growth. These medical
organisations and services are making the organization achieving growth and advantage of the
individual in their personal health overall improvements.
Strategy formulation for healthcare in Oman
As per the views of Umar (2016), Oman is relatively small population of 2.9 million
inhabitants and most of them are Muslims. The country has often invested a lot in the healthcare
of these individual but most of the time they have failed in ensuring better achievement and
growth. In order to keep the process of healthcare in motion Oman has recently set up various
agencies improving personal development and growth. These factors have helped the country in
achieving set growth and advantage and ensuring that the population of the country is having
better health care facilities. All these efforts have made the country develop itself in new
dimensions and improve itself in new areas of health and welfare. These efforts have also made
the country face new challenges in improving its healthcare facilities and developing itself in
new areas of growth.
CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Research methodologies is one of the essential part in conducting studies related to
research. These are specific techniques which is used to process, determine and select as well as
analyse the information about a topic (Al-Lawati, 2017). From the help of such research
methodologies it becomes easy to prepare systematic plan in order to conduct the appropriate
research methods.
Quantitative and Qualitative are two major methods used by the researcher in conducting
the research of the present study. The information or data which is collected from the experience,

behaviour and emotions (Alwahaibi and Zeka, 2016). From this method it has become easy to
understand concept which are complex in nature, cultural phenomenon and social interaction.
Inductive, deductive and adductive are three main types of research approaches which are
applied in order to answer the research question. The present study makes use of inductive
research approach. From the application of inductive research approach, the researcher has
successfully analysed role of performance measurement on both local and national government
in healthcare sector.
Research designs plays a vital role in making the study presentable. Experimental and
descriptive are two major types of designs used in any approach. The descriptive research design
is used the present study to describe the population characteristics or phenomenon being studied.
Research philosophy refers to a belief in which the way information about a phenomenon
is collected, analysed and used. Interpretivism and Positivism are main two types of philosophies
being used the studies (Al Noumani, 2017). The present study is going to make use of
Interpretivism approach of philosophy which is going to be used in the research that is based on
qualitative methods.
From the application of Interpretivism philosophy, the researcher has successfully
analysed role of performance measurement on the both national and local government in
healthcare sector of Oman
Sampling refers to a base for conducting qualitative research. The process of selecting a
small part of the population is known as sampling It refers to a sample because it is the best way
to collect data and ensure better results. Non-Probability and Probability are two types of major
samplings used in researches. The present study is going to make use of probability sampling
because the respondents have equal chances to select the appropriate number from their asked
questions.
Data collection refers to the process of collecting information from the sources which are
relevant in order to answer the research questions (Yousif, Alattar and Fekihal, 2017). It is
important that data should needs to be collected from the sources which are authentic and
reliable. Primary and Secondary data collection methods are two main methods used by
enumerators in order to collect the data. The research will make use of Primary data collection
methods where survey, forces group, observation, interview, questionnaire, schedule will be used
by the researcher.

The next step after the collection of the data is to evaluate and analyse the data which is
collected by the researcher (Umar, 2016). Qualitative and Qualitative are two methods which are
applied in the process of data analysis. The qualitative data analysis is used in the researcher in
order to render required explanations, understanding or interpretations.

good and 8 believes that they are average. Only 2 people are not sure about it. This explains that
the ratings are good and the country should continue is current healthcare planning and
development.

having appropriate budget set for its healthcare services. It ensures that the organisation needs to
carry on its current operations and should achieve proper growth accordingly.

Interpretation: It can be seen that out of 20 people, 12 agrees that the time in which
services of the country is in appropriate manner and are providing the right services to the people
is 2-4 years. It explains the country's population was suffering from bad healthcare before past 5
years.
RECOMMENDATION
As per the above study, it can be seen that Oman is doing its best in providing better
healthcare to its population. It is important that the organisation develops its relationships with
Untied Nation and World Health Organisation to improve the healthcare of its people. It can help
the country in achieving better growth and advantage and can improve its overall services (Oman
and Syme, 2018)s. Along with it, the country needs to raise its health budget to provide better
services to their individuals and needs to understand at what places they are lacking in provision
of good healthcare services to their people. These all measures can help the country to better its
healthcare practices and maintain a strong advantage in promoting good health of the individuals.
CONCLUSION
The above report explores the health care provision in Oman. The report discusses in
what manner the healthcare facilities of the country are transforming the nation and at what

places they are lacking. The report makes use of effective methods to collect data from different
individuals in order to understand and analyse the important changes made by the country in its
healthcare services. These all efforts have helped the country in managing its healthcare and
have improving its services. Along with it, the study explains factors impacting the health and
lifestyles of individuals of Oman. The done findings explains the current situation of Oman in its
healthcare practices and what are the major impacts which the country is facing in terms of
growth and development.
