INTRODUCTION
Health and safety is required to be maintained in healthcare by putting efforts in order
to determine workplace hazards and reducing safety issues properly. It consists training
procedures for personnel in terms of accident prevention, emergency preparedness and
utilisation of protective clothing & equipment’s (Lennard and et. al., 2016). Moreover, it is
necessary to apply effective procedures and regulations intended to prevent accidents or
injury at workplace in health and social care. The present report is based on NHS Trust which
was established under National Health Service & Community Care Act 1990 and set up in
five ways. This assignment will focus on systems, policies and procedures for communicating
information with responsibility to manage health & safety at workplace. It will also include
risk assessments and impact of health & safety policy in context of care practices. The
effectiveness of policies & practices at workplace to promote healthy and safety culture with
self-contribution for the same is given below.

2.1 Impact of risks assessments to make decision about policies and procedures
According to case scenario, it has been analysed many of healthcare trusts did not
consist bariatrics policy which is required to lead planning, amassment and management.
However, it includes management of manual handling risks including number of staff,
provision of appropriate equipment’s, and intra & inter agency communication (Lindahl and
et al., 2013). Moreover, NHS trust is required to adopt bariatrics policy involving assessment
of risks in order to make correct decision regarding policies and procedures to improve
experience of obese patients and increase effectiveness of clinical practices. Moreover,
impact of risk assessment in healthcare is given below –
Capability to take immediate actions – The assessment of risk and problems are
helpful to make accurate plan of care and facilitate correct decision making about policies in
order to conduct effective medication process. The NHS Trust should implement bariatric
policy in respect to assess and manage risk factors by proper decision making for taking
immediate steps to provide treatment to obese people.
