It also affects the rate of employee retention level. Industries that needs to morefocus on the company’s health and safety procedures are mining oriented industrial company,heavy instrumental using and others. This text focuses on the impact of the safety procedures andmanagement of a company based in Victoria, namely BHP Billiton. The Australia basedcompany operates on the mining sector and have minerals like Copper, iron ore, potash, and inpetroleum based company (BHP Billiton | Health and safety, 2017). This mining needs someheavy risks that are involved in the miner’s life (Muhoho, 2014).BHP health and safetyThe company has some good safety procedure that they ensure the company workers andcontractors abide by. The standards defined by the company are most common safety risks andcontrols. Their operation assesses the objectives that need to be fulfilled without fatalities. Theyalways focus on the routine engagement and interaction to improve safety performance,contractors safety committees, pre-start meetings, infield leaders discussing job specific safetyrisks, safety toolbox talks("BHP Billiton | Health and safety", 2017).. Permit to work on confinedspace entry, hot work, breaking systems containing hazardous materials are analysed and thengiven. Tracking critical status and location system are also there.
