INTRODUCTION
Mental health nurses are the one who is responsible for planning and providing support
along with Medical and nursing care to the people with a mental health issue. Mental health
nurses are the one who provides support to the people who are having an issue related with
depression and anxiety which can have an impact on their personality and eating disorder.
Smoking is the one which leads to creating mental disorder which includes depression and
anxiety and schizophrenia. Mental illness due to smoking can have a high rate of mortality which
creates illnesses such as respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease and cancer. In this report,
there is a discussion about mental illness due to smoking. There is a discussion about statics and
epidemiology along with inequality in health. There is also a discussion about the principle of
health promotion, protection mental health initiative and interventions (Smith, 2019).
MAIN BODY
Rationale
Smoking is the one that creates chances of illness that are cancer, cardiovascular disease
or respiratory disease which can create an impact on health. Smoking also leads to mental
disorders which grade mostly depression and anxiety. These are the ones that are generally
caused due to smoking, smokers have thought that smoking is providing relief from anxiety and
depression but smoking is the one that creates more anxiety and depression in people. During
mental disorder due to smoking, there is a need to provide better care to the person who was
smoke and get depression and anxiety disorder. Mental health nurses are the ones who have
specialized in psychometric disorder. They are trained for providing better health and social care
to a person with mental illness. They can provide better care and medication which can lead to
provide improvement in the mental health of people (Mei, 2017).
Statistical and epidemiological
In the UK one of the biggest causes of illness and death is smoking. Regarding this, there
are about 78000 people die due to smoking every year. There are about 14.1 % of people aged 18
and above smoke cigarettes daily which are around 6.9 million people of the whole population
consume cigarettes on daily basis (Simamora, 2019). There is a reduction in the proportion of
current smokers in the country from 14.7% to 14.1 %. In the UK, generally, 18 years and above-
aged people consume tobacco on daily basis. Due to this, there are different premature that
