TASK 2 2.1 Explain the implementation of policies, legislation, regulations and codes of practicesFrom case study it can be analysed that the implementation of policies and regulationswere not proper in fleetwood hallome (Dickinson and O'Flynn, 2016). There are many actswhich has to be followed and imposed by UK government. These are as follows :-Health and social care act 2012- It is included in legislation which consists of several acts andlaws. It ensures that changes in policies are made as per ethics, background, etc of population. Itcontains standards of how to deliver care and services to patients. In context of case study, careservices were not delivered properly to both men and women. staff was not properly trained aswell. Mental capacity act 2005- In this there are many policies included related to procurement ofmedicines. The medicines have to stored and records must be maintained properly. Withreference to case study, it can be identified that patients were not given medicines as per theirneeds. Also, medicines were not stored and audited as per mental capacity act 2005.Care standard act 2000- It gives right to patient and included codes of practices which arerequired in maintaining records of patients. It ensures that patient data and information must bekept secured and protected by management. From case study, it can be analysed that patient datawas not recorded properly. This led to non availability of staff to each patient. There wasshortage of staff to attend patients and their family members.It can be stated that there was a high impact of codes of practices and policy on fleetwoodhallome. during inspection of CQC, it was identified that according to structure of care homepolicies were not implemented in proper way. In addition to it, policy and practices ensures thatcare are delivered in effective way. also, it set guidelines for staff on how to deal with situation.With help of it. local authority can control operations of care home. Besides it, changes inpractices can be made with regards to policy (Gradinger and et.al., 2015). Therefore, there ishigh impact of policy on fleetwood hallome. The care will be provided to both men and womenseparately as per their needs. Staff will be provided advance and proper training on how to adoptbest practices for health care. the medicine will be stored and managed in proper way. the carehome will hire only registered staff and records will be properly maintained. 1
