EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Healthcare and social care are two primary care services,
cumulatively that helps to provide the service users with
holistic care. There are several disciplines that relates social
care and healthcare and these are: biology, sociology,
nutrition and ethics. This presentation provides different
theories, management, and challenges associated with it.
Further, different motivational theory in social care sector
and their ability in impacting employees has been mentioned.
Further, the role of healthcare professionals in developing the
health and social care integration need has been mentioned
in the presentation.

INTRODUCTION
The term health and social care comprises of
entire public and private healthcare and social
care organisations , under which care is being
provided to the service users (Dickinson and
O'Flynn 2016).
This comprehensive study is inclusive of biology,
sociology, nutrition, law and ethics.
The aim of these services are maintaining quality
of care, providing accurate interventions and
deliver safe and secured care.

THEORIES OF LEADERSHIP AND
MANAGEMENT
Great man theory
Believes on the potential of individual
Trait theory
Trusts the leadership traits of specific individual
Contingency theory
Depends on the behaviour of the leader on different
situation (Amanchukwu, Stanley and Ololube 2015)
Transformational theory
believes in reward and punishment depending on
performance
Transactional theory
Believes in the team work for the development of the
entire team (Dartey-Baah 2015)
