Task 1: Essay
Q1. Explain the philosophy of working in partnership in health and social care in relation
[P1.1]
The partnership in health and social work is of prime importance to prevent further socio
economic crisis caused by untimely deaths. The survey conducted shows that men die before
women due to the stereotypical notion of masculinity. They want to prove that they can live and
get past a disease without a diagnosis and treatment, the reason of their untimely deaths (Glasby,
2017). The Aldgate Health Clinic for Men (AHCM) consists of three groups that aims at
focusing on issues related to their health, diagnosis of their diseases and mainly motivating those
who do not give much importance to a proper health checkup. The partnership between health
and social care will enable to remove the roots of gender inefficiency. AHCM believes that
collaboration with various social groups can decrease the level deaths. As per a survey, women
are more responsive towards approaching symptoms of cancer or any other chronic than disease
than men because men believe that there should not be any obstacle in their potential level of
superiority. The key philosophies showcased by AHCM regarding this budding yet an issue that
has been prevalent since ages unidentified are empowering them to believe that a diagnosis
would not hurt their masculinity. Men need to be encouraged about the dangers involved in their
treatment and they need to believe that their record would remain confidential. To achieve the
goal of a successful partnership, even the organizations have to maintain certain decorum with
other groups. Communication skills are to be prioritized first to generate the positive outcome of
collaborative working (Moss, 2017). The policies undertaken by AHCM and its stakeholders are
entrusted by certain regulations that can ensure responsible use of information among them so
that the profile of a person is not at stake. Not following the registered ideologies might lead to
inflexible services, disturbing patterns of management and sometimes unequal distribution of
resources. The partnership must influence one’s decision making initiative regarding health and
in this case, precisely men. A range of differences will prevail on the way of partnership working
and it is upon them to get past their creative or decisive differences and work together as a team
with dignity to achieve their goal (Dickinson and O'Flynn, 2016). They have to keep in mind the
philosophies they build their foundation on and not let their own insecurities and complexities

that would turn out to save lives because generating successful outcomes depends on how they
work together.
The partnership should not be affected by any negative behavior or failed strategy. The unity
should be maintained because at the end of the day what matters is the fulfillment of service
users. A proper attitude needs to be constant for the foundation to stay strong.
Q2. Evaluate partnership relationships within health and social care services. [P1.2, D2]
The partnership relationships within health and social care services are based on their policy
working as a whole to achieve the common goal they build initially. The main challenge here is
to overcome professional differences to influence constructive decision-making.
The key ingredients behind successful partnership relationship are quite a few, they involve
issues like having a shared morality, and values regarding a particular subject matter, limitation
set crossing certain boundaries such as risking relevant data and the confidentiality of the clinic
and its stakeholders or medical details of patient, have guaranteed trust and mutual respect
among each other, make certain of resource utilization and sustainable use of it at the same time
(Glasby and Dickinson, 2014). In reference to the case study given, it is evident that both health
and social care services have a prominent role in the lives of men who believe that a mere
diagnosis would hurt their manliness. The partnership is not limited to a few stakeholders and
social services, more local communities and users can contribute by determining appropriate
models, responses and by giving creative ideas. Since, the partnership is based on trust and
respect, it is also important to make sure of the use of relevant data (Heiman, and Artiga, 2015).
A patient’s health details or agency’s confidential data must be protected at all costs. The
communication issue plays a vital role in bridging the gap. They can share their ideas and
formulate more strategies if all the organizations involved showcase appropriate communication
skills. The relationship between health care and social services will not only help them to
flourish their own care but also help the care receivers in a beneficial way. There will be a
chance of proper assessment of patients without the intervention of any support worker. There
will be a better understanding of the roles of the management and minimal use of emergency
admissions. The most important goal of the agencies here is to avoid the rebelliousness towards
the philosophies and the guiding policies.Various organizations working together will give birth
to certain political, consideration and responsible differences. There will always be more

complexities invading one’s consciousness but it is important to get past them and form a
coherent response to problems, which are bigger than one’s insecurities. They need to be
prepared to explore new ideas and strategies to enhance their services and they should be able to
give prominent importance to bud mutual trust and attitude (Nelson and Staggers, 2016). This is
the thing, which will invite professionalism to their work and maintain the stability of the
organization as well as following the footsteps of the leader.
No matter how successful the natures of the involvement of various organizations are, what
makes the relationship more successful is the depth of commitment each one has towards the
partnership. Partnerships are not just intended to respond to limited issues but to a wide variety
of issues concerning the civilization, so it is important to have a strong connection among each
other.

Task 2: Brochure
Q3: you are to analyze different models of partnership working across the health and social
care Sector [P2.1]
6
The main objective of partnership working is to
deliver promising services to a number of people.
Each partnership organization has their own
strategies of working. It is due to their combined
strategy that others are receiving services of health
and social care with proficiency. Every model
should be enriched with strategy that will help
establish a positive aspect of working with the users
of services, organizations involved in health and
social care services and professionals. The modern
agenda behind the partnership working is
eliminating competitiveness and encouraging public
health services (Greer and Falkenbach, 2017). It is
important that health and social care services go
hand in hand because many people go through
social anxiety due to their illness and if the disease
turns out to be a mentally driven one then the
situation gets far worse.
Joint Planning: One of the important models of
partnership working is joint planning of framework.
Here, it is important that all the organizations
involved in the partnership come together and
discuss their ideas and strategies. It also implies
joining hands with the government for joint
investment plans with the government for the
continuation of facilities, improvisation of
healthcare plans and futuristic plans about the
whole integrated structure. The main idea here is
the involvement of every facility concerned.
Communication Model: Another primary model is
the communication model, which is completely
based on the idea of being open to every agency
involved in the partnership along with the group of
people who are availing the services (Teixeira and
Kolke, 2017). It enables to develop a mutually
respected bond and the ability to trust each other in
the times of need. It also allows everyone come out
of the box to think and share various ideas that can
either contribute to the strategy or help to encourage
others to think differently as well.
Multiple Organizations Working Model
There is another model of working where multiple
organizations share their resources instead of a
common funding so that every agency has a fair
share in the work executed. This model of work is
considered one of the risky ones because it is
important that the organizations contributing their
resources have necessary information about each
other and have implemented proper planning. For
this model to be successful, a level of trust needs to
be built between the individuals running the
organization. The general aim is to achieve
successful outcomes with an act of togetherness
rather than working separately.
Syndicate Model
There is a model, which allows the organizations to
work only for their own benefits. There might be a
contract or a financial agreement listing the clauses
and reasons behind the partnership. Sometimes
there is also a chance of a fundraiser or a gala to
raise funds for investing (Inglis and Egan, 2016).
The outcome generated will be taken by the
organizations as profit. This form of partnership
working model is known as the syndicate model.
The organizations also possess a choice of working
all by themselves or to work alongside others. This
model is completely profit-based work. There is a
minimal scenario of considering the social
complexities.

This act purposed for the local authorities to assess
people for support and social care to ensure the
people that who need the community services will

The needs of the patients are recognized and then
take necessary initiatives as needed. The two main
points of this act is:
Anyone who requires the services are able to take
the full initiatives as per individuals needed.Anyone
who needs the services and who is eligible has the
right to except the services they received. The
person or the individual has a right to participate the

The health of the nation 1992 policy: This
policy is taken by the government for the health
purpose. Every year many people dies before

improvement of health of the population(Blank,
2017). Their is some common diseases which
cause the great quantity of health problem

4. The to a faire stream.

practices and policies for partnership working in
health and social care. The government review of
social health stated at the role of services which
users should be developed for the individual health
and care. Since the participations of this partnership

Q5. In line with your workplace experience, you must explain how differences in working
practices and policies affect collaborative working. [P2.3, M2]
8
The Board of The Aldgate Health Clinic for Men
(AHCM) has appointed a consultant and asked to
make a brochure for new nursing staff on how to
promote positive partnership working with users of
services, professionals and organisations in health
and social care services. In this workplace, quite a
few departments come together while serving the
people. They come together to formulate the ways
in which they can probably carry out the services. In
the process, there can be many contradictions of the
work process and policies of the different
departments coming together. The contradictions
may occur due to communication gap, perspective
of the different organizational norms and others
(Zwarenstein et al., 2009).
An example can be taken into consideration while
explaining the differences. A mentally unsound man
was once admitted at AHCM as he fell down from
the staircase. He was previously staying in an
asylum where he was going through a lot of ill
treatment. It was supposed that he may have fallen
down due to his mental instability. Nevertheless, to
proceed with the treatment, AHCM required his
medical reports which the asylum was not agreeing
to provide as it was against their norm. Even more,
as he was ill-treated, police and lawyers not
involved in the case. All the departments had
different policies of work that were contradicting
each other. This was delaying the recovery process
of the man. All the departments came together to
chalk out the way in which the norms can be
evaluated to do the needful. Thankfully, a solution
was made to the problem and the man had
recovered eventually.
However, it can never be ignored that there is a fair
chance that there could have been no solution to the
problem and the man could have faced the
consequences that could negatively affect him and
could have been fatal.
Another case that had occurred was such that a man
had an accident on road. The local people who had
come to rescue, faced a problem while deciding
whom to call first. The departments that got
involved in the case were police, lawyers, the
affected man’s family, the affecter’s family,
hospital, the local people and rescuers. There was a
massive delay in taking immediate actions for the
man’s treatment. After the delay, the necessary
actions were taken regarding the matter but the
delay proved to be fatal for the man, he eventually
died.
Thus, the contradiction severely affects the people
whom the services are being provided to. The
malfunctioning and communication gap can create
problems for everyone involved in the
process. Before carrying out any service, the
different departments should come together to
create a framework for reaching the organizational
aims.
In the former example although there was no
serious consequence of the partnership
malfunctioning, there was a fair chance of it
happening. This fact in proven from the latter
example stated above. In that case, the life of a
person was sacrificed in the process and it is no way
acceptable, no matter what may be reason. These
need to be avoided through proper teamwork and
effective operation with awareness about the
consequences.
