1 Self-Representation:
Health issue among the youth is a majorly growing problem now-a-days. Young
people are the future of the society. Improper hygiene, excessive work pressure, bad habits,
poor sanitation and new diseases are the major factors those are harming the health of the
youth. Different health issues are generated among the youth due to the results of injuries
from accidents, occupation and even from war. Health practices are the set of activities which
resolves health issues (Schiavo 2013). Many times it has been seen that these health issues
become almost impossible to solve despite of applying different health practices (Friis and
Sellers 2013). Among these young people all around the world I am one who is a victim of
health issues. My major health issue is headache, specifically migraine. Migraine is a
neurological disorder, a severe type of repetitive headache that generally lasts from two to
seventy-two hours (Lipton and Silberstein 2015). Almost half portion of the head becomes
affected by it. Nausea, light and sound sensitivity, vomiting, excessive pain during physical
activities are the general symptoms of migraine. Different disturbances like confusing
thoughts, speaking difficulties, pinprick in leg or arm, blind spots and zigzag lines in visual
fields are disturbances associated with migraine that can anticipate that the pain is about to
come. I am a serious victim of this health issue as I face many of these problems during my
daily life. My work-life has become much stressful due to these problems. Many I have I
have faced some of these problems during my work hours and at that time it became almost
impossible for me to work. Blind spots in vision and confusing thoughts are the major
problems of mine during work hours.
To reduce these effects I have implied some physical practices apart from regular
medications. These practices are regular exercise, adequate sleep and water drinking,
avoiding certain food items like extra oily and spicy foods and Acupuncture. Moreover the

practice of Yoga regularly has provided me a lot of comfort in this case. Yoga has become
my major focus in order to reduce migraine. It is a set of static muscular exercises with
slower movements that demands the total concentration of the engaged person (Rist et al.
2013). It reduces the intensity and frequency of the pain. It releases the excess pressure
generated due to the daily stress of work. The effects of this practice have set a higher value
for it. The period of repeat of headache has been reduced due to the effects of this practice in
my daily life. My practice incorporates eight different yoga techniques which take maximum
one hour of my daily time. According to the experts, I perform my yoga practices in the
morning as in that time a lot of fresh air is available and since migraine headaches often
happen in the morning, it has become the primary target time of mine.
