Question 1
The strategies that will be employed in a community before starting the health program in
a community:
Identification of the societal issues (access to the quality healthcare) that
potentially contribute to the development of interventions and disparities in
addressing the societal issues.
Promotion of the personal health
Advancement in community wellness.
The unforeseen barriers and issues that can be seen during the implementation of the
program are the lack of the awareness among the members of the community, the inability of the
community in accessing the healthcare. The health professionals might be unwilling to a work a
community which can pose as a cultural incompetency.
In some cultures, open discussion on the sexually transmitted disease might be
considered as a taboo and the members of the community might be unable to consider the benefit
of the public health program (Rouzbehani 2017).
Question 2
The five key priorities are as follows:
Integration of information technology into the health departments.
To ensure nurses are culturally competent.
To conduct seminars and workshop on the disease condition internationally.
Increase the healthcare workforce.

Reduction of barriers existing in healthcare access (Budrevičiūtė, Kalėdienė and
Petrauskienė, 2018).
Question 3
For this question, the state of South Carolina is considered. The health issue chosen for
this for the policy cycle is the sexually transmitted diseases. It is important to mention that
citizens of South Carolina are largely affected from the sexually transmitted diseases. Thus the
policy that will be framed will greatly impact the sexual health of the residents of South
Carolina. The policy cycle will be consisting of the 5 major steps. The first step will be agenda
setting and in this step, attention will be focussed on a public health problem like sexually
transmitted diseases. Public health program will be undertaken to reduce the incidence of this
health issue. In the second step, policy formation will include the framing of a policy of public
health program. This step will also be including the strategies of designing the public health
program based on sexually transmitted diseases. The policy adoption is the third step and the
policy designed will be adopted so that the policy solution can be framed and applied as a
legislation. The fourth step will be implementation of policy as the policy will be effectively
implemented by the different healthcare organizations and governmental healthcare agencies.
The fifth step is the policy evaluation and the analysis of the policy over a period of time so that
the changes can be brought into the policy and the effectiveness of the policy can be increased.
