This persuasive essay is focused on a selected National Health Priority (NHP) in a
selected country so that evidence-based healthcare practice can be demonstrated. The key
question of the essay is “why is my topic a national health priority areas and how is this being
addressed?”. This topic has been chosen because health is the utmost priority for an
individual to be successful in personal and professional life. In this essay, the chosen health
priority is ‘Mental Health in Young Adults’ (MHYA) in Australia. In general, the chosen
health priority is a major medical issue which has already become a threatening as well as
complex issue at the international level. Many important types of health make humans who
they are. Such health types are physical health, emotional health, environmental health,
spiritual health, social health, and most importantly mental health (Thomas & Hersen, 2017) .
All of the above-mentioned health areas are equally important for a human being to live life
happily and in a healthy way. This essay is mainly focusing on MHYA of Australia which
has been selected as the health priority in the country.

It is worth noted that mental health is typically one of the top National Health Priority
Areas in Australia. Mental health in the chosen nation is the major concern because of its
enormous public as well as social health importance. It has been observed that the issue of
mental health has been popular in the age group of 18 to 30 years which is also known as
