According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is stated that health
promotion is a significant process which supports different group of individual to direct
control and enhance their health condition. Different environmental interventions are widely
available that will assist and safeguard the individuals health as well as their eminence of life
(WHO, 2016). It is assumed that health promotion provides appropriate message to different
individuals regarding the prevention from primary causes of disorder other than concentrating
on cure and treatment (WHO, 2016). In this study, I will evaluate the c-span well-being
promotion video and enlighten the steps that can be adopted by the community to achieve
health promotion associated with the significance of well-being promotion. I will also
elaborate the influence of health promotion on an individual’s health and how they can direct
their health and identify the strategies for better health condition.
Health promotion consist of three crucial elements namely health cities, health
literacy and good authority for health (Sharma, 2015). Health promotion involves the
administration to create an appropriate government health policy, which states that all the
necessary decision of health prevention is taken under authority and control. The government
of the poor socio-economic policies also assist in enhancing the overall health condition
status (Archenaa & Anita, 2015). The next element of health promotion includes health
literacy, where every individual must acquire information, knowledge and skills to take
healthy life choices regarding the nutrition they consume associated with the atmosphere they
live in. The last element is health cities, where cities have a huge role in promoting health
promotion through developing preventive resolutions within the healthcare facilities and
residential areas.
According to the information obtained from the video clip, the C-Span Health
Promotion video, U.S. Surgeon General, Dr Regina Benjamin communicates regarding
various methods of promoting health among communities. Being an American Doctor, she

delivered and addressed the general public with relevant available information and strategies
to assist the makers in developing an effective health promotion strategy for a better nation.
Dr Benjamin, communicated regarding 2010 health care law, Obama administration’s
National Prevention Health Promotion Approach. She enlightens on the approach to upsurge
the quantity of fit and healthy individuals. Dr Benjamin also elaborated on living a fit and
healthy life and selecting nutritious food and exercise. She said that an individual’s health is
dependent on the surrounding where they live and what kind of food they eat. She revealed
the significance of consuming adequate quantity of vegetables and fruits every day.
In this video clip, she also discussed the effect of promotion approach and how it
effect on the consumers. The response of the consumers will be communicated through calls.
Effective health promotion is therefore considered as very significant for a healthy life as it
enhances the individual’s quality of life and focus on disease prevention. Another benefit of
health promotion is to reduce the cost of medical treatment particularly for individuals,
families, employers, communities, insurance companies and medical facilities (Fertman &
Allensworth, 2016). It is widely accepted that social and health wellbeing are specifically
identified by various factors like harmful eating patterns, economic and social factors,
economic alterations and family patterns. Another method of health promotion must include
settings-grounded within any specific settings like residential areas, schools, workplace and
hospitals.
Positive health consequences can be achieved by operating policies competently
which can further result in positive health result. It is identified as the government’s
accountability to advance and protect the welfares of the society and provide enhanced health
care. In United States (US), the administration has various roles towards improving the safety
and quality of health care (Squires & Anderson, 2015). Roles include providing and
