TASK 2
Statistical evidence on the effectiveness of the initiative
The UK government has promoted healthy levels of physical activity amongst children
through a range of campaigns including Change4life. There are certain types of activities which
are initiated by the government and this is creating value as to how effectively and in appropriate
manner the healthy lifestyle is being promoted among the children. Awareness among the

government of UK has promoted healthy levels which indicate specific statistics and information
regarding the initiative which has been taken at large scale (Hayes, 2022). The government has
been very supportive of the aspects and has addressed the concerns which are related to how
effectively the children are to be properly guided and at large scale regarding their health.
The UK government focused on having more physical activities led by the children through
which they are aware and are concerned about their health. Due to physical activities being
mentioned by the government for children to incur and focus on having some physical activities
in their life will help in improving their health as there are many benefits of physical activities. In
2011, there were certain guidelines which were regulated by the government. There is specific
statistics which is being covered in analysing and interpreting that how effectively physical
activities are led by the children and adults. In the 12 months to November 2018, two thirds of
adults (66%) were considered active as per the government guidelines. 22% were considered to
be inactive. Men (68%) were more likely to be active than women (64%).
Activity levels generally fall with age, but the sharpest decline comes at ages 75-84 (48%
active) and age 85+ (26% active). This helps in indicating and addressing the aspects of how
effectively and in appropriate manner there are major concerns which are related to physical
