INTRODUCTION
Mental health is defined as the cognitive, behavioural and emotional wellbeing of individual. In
addition, it is usually referring to the thinking, feeling and the behaviour of people. Moreover,
people used to take some of the term which is related with the mental health to the mean of the
absence which is showing the factor which is related with the mental disorder. Therefore, the
mental health may affect the daily living and the relationship of people and also create hindrance
in the physical health of people (Pascoe and et. al., 2020). Within the UK, the number of people
used to face issue with the development of mental health problem which is related with the
adolescent, adults and young people. In this report, the major of discussion is based on the study
which is associated with the context of health promotion with taking the reference of mental
health in UK. The report consists of health promotion approach which is helpful to raise
awareness of mental health among children and young people under the age of 24, the discussion
is based on the Lalonde report which may be influence the way of health promotion which is
designed and communicated and last one is based on the discussion which is related with the
planning, implementation and evaluation of the health promotion programme (Seaton and et. al.,
2019).

Statistic and information on Mental Health among children and young people from chosen
borough (Brooklyn)
In this, UK is facing high range of mental health issue among the children and young
people. It is also stated that the 20 percent of adolescent is dealing with the mental health issue in
every year. Moreover, the 50 percent of the mental health issue are used to established by the age
of 14 and 75 percent and more at the age of 24. Therefore, the statistic also refers as the 10
percent of children and young people which is aged 5-16-year-old have a clinically diagnosable
mental issue and they do not have yet 70 percent of the children and the adolescent experience
the mental health issue which is not proper intervention which is taking in the significant way
with the large aspect of early age. The statistic which is chosen to the relevant borough that is

Brooklyn. Within this, the unequal access to mental healthcare on new work city. In addition, the
working towards a city where the number of people can access the mental healthcare and there
are some of the fewer mental health crises. Therefore, they are doing this by using the approach
which is based on the critical gaps in the term of care which acknowledge that the access to the
mental healthcare disproportionately that usually affect the people of Brooklyn due to the race,
ethnicity and many more which is work as key factor which is measureable and show the
inequalities which affect the mental of people in the Brooklyn (Thomas and Bendtsen, 2019).
In this, it is well analysed that the people with mental health is affected on the large
number on Brooklyn. The data show that one of the five people in the New York usually
experience the issue of mental illness on the given year whereas that is about equal to the 65
percent of the resident in the Brooklyn. Moreover, the chosen borough show indicate that the
mental disorder used to continue which work as common, widespread and disabling. In addition
to this, every year more than the 1 to 5 year of New Yorker symptoms of the mental disorder. in
every year 1 to 10 children and adults are facing the issue of mental health challenge which is
critical that is enough to affect the functioning of work, family and school life (Hinrichsen and
et. al., 2020).
Two health promotion theories
There are several of theories and model which is helpful in order to support the practice
of health promotion and disease prevention. The two selected health promotion theories within
the scope of practice for the mental health includes:
Ecological model: The ecological model is used to refer as the interaction between the
interdependence, factor within and across the level of health issue. it also refers the people
interaction with their physical and social cultural environment. With the contrast with the mental
health, the lack of social interaction and communication is also a cause which is responsible for
the mental illness. The ecological model used to indicate the gap which is fulfilled with the help
of interaction among the people which reduces the complexities of people with mental health
because they can share their thought and opinions which provide them resilience and wellbeing
(Yap and et. al., 2019).
In this, ecological model realised various things which is related with the level of
influence on the health behaviour which mainly includes Intrapersonal/individual factor which
include the factor which influence the behaviour such as knowledge, attitude and personality.
