Cancer
2. Introduction and Health Promotion Issue:
Health promotion enables people to increase control over their own health (What is
health promotion?, 2020).This is because it covers social and environmental
interventions which are made in such a way to benefit and help individuals with their
health and quality of life by teaching them how to prevent causes of illness in such a
way where it is not forcing them on treatment or a cure. Health promotion is
important because it reduces premature deaths as health promotion focusses on
prevention as it reduces the cost which individuals, employers, families, insurance
companies, medical facilities, communities, the state and the nation would spend on
medical treatment (College of Public Health UGA, 2020). An example of this is if you
was to have a lot of cigarettes intake due to stress or mental health issues such as
depression by having nicotine inside you may be a short term fix to make you feel
better but the long term risk is you may later on receive health problems such as
lung , stomach or mouth cancer . However by having Health Promotion it could
minimize the risk and help to reduce your addiction through giving you guidance to
support you in a healthier way such as telling you places where to go to speak to
someone or giving advise on having other supplements instead of a drug which would
kill you and will help you to save money in the long run.
3. Rationale:
In the present era, the health promotion activity is important with the motive to

generate the awareness among the public health by making the use of the different
media. The health promotion campaign ensures is to not only to provide public but
also to make the new health interventions that are present (Propern and van
Oostrom, 2019).
The research is important to be conducted in order to motivate the people to embrace
the behaviour that improvement for the emotional and physical quality of life. This is
the way through which this proposed campaign will contribute in reducing their level
of risk for their premature mortality and morbidity. The proposed health promotion
activity is selected because the issue of cancer is increasing day by day due to lack of
awareness among the people about the disease (Lin, 2016).
4. Aims of the Health Promotion Campaign Activity:
This proposal will contain a well-researched proposal relating to cancer, giving in dept
detail of what cancer is and how health promotion is important, it will also discuss how
determine the effectiveness of the leaflet including the strengths and limitations.
5. Proposed Health Promotion approach explaining reasons why
suggested approach is considered to be most suitable:
The suggested approach for the health promotion for the research is educational
approach. The purpose of educational approach is to offer the persons with the data,
safeguard the information as well as the understanding of the issues of health and to
allow well-informed choices that are required to be made. The approach is considered
to be suitable as it generate the information about the cancer and how cigarettes and
tobacco can leads to cancer (Janssen, Van Regenmortel, and Abma, 2014). The
approaches will assistance the persons to discover their values and attitudes to make
their own choices for being fit and healthy which is needed to prevent cancer.
The proposed health promotion educational approach motivates the individuals to
make their own decision. The promotional campaign shows that generating the
education among the people due to which the approach is selected.
