INTRODUCTION
Now days social or health services is most important aspect for the community because
so many peoples are affected by various kind of diseases among some of them are newly
developed due to which they face different issues (Best and et. al., 2012). So people have to be
aware about different types of new vulnerable diseases. Health and social care organisation
provide therapy and treatments to the clients and patients. This project report is about principles
of health and social care practices in Great Britain which provide many services to the
individual. Also, has been evaluate different principles which are followed in health and social
care centres. Apart from this, various role of principles has been explained which provide care to
workers, patients and clients.

techniques for reducing problem which are explained as under:
 For make sure that everyone is risk free and safe in hospital, first need to find the reasons
of harm and risk in the health care centre (Dye, Reeder and Terry, 2013). There are
different kinds of harm such as emotional, financial physical and psychological harm.
 Service provider must ensure that they provide good quality services to all patients which
is safe, risk free and very effective by following the standard of time. If care worker
carefully follows the safety standard than they can protect customers from physical
injury.
 It is difficult to tackles patients who is intellectually affected. For this they require more

as people have different character and outlook. By providing proper food, medication and
health care services to the patients, service delivers can secure them from harsh

information of patients. According to this act, management can give permission for
access the information of client to proper individual. The another regulation is Control of

be interpreted as various direction, regulations and legislation which are applied in health care
organisation for betterment of health condition.
Protect rights of users: There has been many principles that are followed by health care
organisation for effective management practices. Principles of support is the main principle of
health and social care organisation which help in providing better health care services to users,
workers, patients and clients (Drummond and et. al., 2015). It is responsibility of care workers
to give respect to patient's right as well as personality. People of different beliefs and culture
are come in hospital so care worker must treat them equal and respect their culture.
Benefits to the service provider and user: Service provider can take some own decision to
provide effective and good health services to patient. Principle of support play very significant
role in health care practices that provide many benefits to the hospital such as it assists in
knowing about the treatment procedures and maintain privacy and right of patient. Principle of
support also ensuring that all patients are able to make own choice decision for their self-care.

premises. In those theories many events, individual's need and process get priority. All concept
helps to evolve plans for supporting positive or healthy style of living and accomplishing first
class of social, emotional, divine and physical healthiness for the client.
Maslow's hierarchy need theory: This is health care theory in which individual's needs are
categorized in different parallel or basic needs comes in the first phase. Without achieving
bottom level requirement an individual cannot move to next level. The most necessary need of
this theory is physiological needs. Safety or Security needs, self-esteem and self-actualization
are next level needs. This theory is executed while making the plan of service for the service
customer (Légaré and et. al., 2011).
Human growth and development theory: People development and human growths are another
theory that is used by social and health care organisation. According to this theory, service and
care are changed with age, development and growth. There are many more theories are
implemented in health care system regarding stress management, behaviour and social
processes. All these theory help care workers in dealing with different types of peoples in
health and social care organisation practices.
Conclusion : From the above based theories it can be concluded that needs and requirements of
people changes with age of people. So, appropriate care should be provided to them as per their

choices and preferences.

to assure the effectiveness of arbitrations. For the effective management health care services
must be applied differently as different people come from different culture and beliefs who
react differently to situations. The behaviour and way of realising the nature by people is
impacted by social processes (Miettinen, 2011). Because of peer group, people choice to
unhealthy practices such as smoking and drinking. In the health and social care system all the
people should be treated fairly or equally.

needs or facilitates health care takers to work as a team. In this absence of one individual's
expertise will be easily satisfied by other people of the same field which makes it more
effective.

of service users and promote holistic approach to health which will improve the knowledge of
peoples. It assists to improve the strong, healthy, trustworthy and positive relationship between

1.3 Advantages of person-centred approach with end users of social and health care facilities
The Carl Rogers who was a psychologist invented the Person-centred approach. This
approach is manipulated by social care and health system for developing a service which is more
focussing or assuring the requirement and needs of patients (Enthoven, 2014). To handle clients
in proper way by fulfilling their needs and demand, this process ensures optimum care for the
patients. In this process patient's emotional, mental, psychological and physical health are cared
properly. The level of client's confidence increase if their queries are answered in appropriate
way.
This process is very beneficial for both service users as well as health and social care
providers. Care provider should treat all patients, clients and works equally without doing any
kind of discrimination with them.
With the help of this process, service provider should supply additional care to disabled
patients by doing their work that cannot done by them in effective way. For example; bath by
themselves is difficult for some clients who have physical problem in such case nurse should
help in bathing.
This process also provide power to the patients to take suitable decision regarding their
treatment process by themselves. Apart from this, relationship between service taker and
provider improve by using effective communication process.
Employees help to support the patients in accomplishing their long term goals. With the help of
person-centred approach service users can protect and secure their rights from any kind of
restriction. Also help in reducing the social problem, conflicts and separation among different
users.
Provide quick service to those users who need first and treat them in most appropriate
way. Support poor and disable person from various health issues and problems. Thus, it has been
easily understood that health and social care management should pay full attention to the
vulnerable group.

1.4 Barriers or difficulties that may arise while giving support, care or safeguards to health care
users
There is so many contradictory situation arises at work place where worker face problem.
It is very important for care takers to sustain rules or policies of organisation all the time for the
healthiness of their patients and customers. embarrassments are developing in different kind of
situations. Many times battles may arise in culture, assessment and faith between service users
and care workers. Through this conflicts, health and social care system may have affected as well
as it can hamper good health care and fitness services.
For example: According to the act, if human is adult then he can take his own decision
but several time patients make unproductive decision such as refuge to take medication on time
(Entwistle and et. al., 2010). It is very important to take medication on regular basis for growing
health life return and back to normal life. In other side, service provider is required to accept the
patient's decision. In such consequence, worker face ethical dilemma in health and social care
system. Care taker cannot force any patient if they do not want to take medicine. In hospitals
these types of situation are very common. As it is not possible for workers that not doing
anything for the patients and let them die. Handling this types of circumstances is very tough.
For social care and health care workers to do nothing and stand strongly against the ethical
norms of them.
4.1 Own responsibilities, duties, accountabilities and role
There are different roles and responsibilities of social worker regarding health and social
care practices which help them in performing risk free management. As a manager of health and
social care centre I have to achieve various required obligation or rules within as well as outside
the organisation are explained as below:
It is important for me for promoting a therapeutic and conductive atmosphere for all the
clients is main acts of social and health care setting. Trusting relationship is very important
process as most of the time services provider stays with the service user. It is responsibility of
care provider to guard all the practices and functions of service users effectively.
I also, ensure the needs and requirements of clients are being met and provide all the
services, properly take care of service users or ensuring the rights are exercised and preserved. I
can easily satisfy the needs and requirements of the patients such as hygiene, feeding and
physical activities by performing my roles in most effective and systematic manner (Moule and

Hek, 2011). It is my responsibility to promote healthy as well as social care facility in the society
to make them aware about different kinds of diseases.
I am responsible for all the problem and issues of the patients so solve them effectively for
satisfying their need and requirement. It is my duty to provide proper care to all patients and
solve all disputes which arises in organisation.
4.2 Own contribution to the implementation or development of organisational policy
For smooth running management for all staff members and employees to follow the own
organisational policy which play very important role in certain institutions. Policies should be
straightforward or clear which assist in minimising the misinterpretation as well as
misunderstanding at work place (Puhl and Heuer, 2010). With the effective implementation and
improvement of policies own contributions will contribute more as they are affected by it. If all
staff member obeys and respect the organisational policies, then good healthy working
environment will be developed. The management should review the policy on regular basis to
ensure that they are profitable for the organisational practices and activities. By attending
training programs, staff appraisal scheme, staff meeting and so service provider can enhance
knowledge and awareness regarding the healthcare problems and issues.
4.3 To develop own contributions by recommendations
For some adequate knowledge I have to learn regarding the code of conducts and rules
through the general health council to achieve best practice requirement. Through effective
learning knowledge it can be determine as adhering by the standards and national policies and
also evaluate my performance. Careers must take care local as well as country's rules and
regulation into concern.
It is necessary to follow all the general regulation, constitution or acts and rules in social
and health care system practices. Apart from this, we can improve ourselves through appropriate
supplementary studies and training programs. We should keep all the current information about
the social and health care practices for giving best results or outcomes (Sheldon, 2011). For
developing own contribution in organisation there should be many tasks done by the
professionals such as providing effective treatment practices to all patients who are in comma,
ICU, etc. Service provider should take care of children as friend so that they do not feel alone in
the hospital.

It is responsibility of worker to provide proper and suitable care to disable patients by
aiding them in walking, eating, bathing and so on. Health and social care organisation must be
clear and provide healthy as well as positive environment so that patient feel good in the
hospital.

professionals to make proper communication with service users and communicate strategic plans

influencing any person's mind or thinking in effective way. Also, reduce the risk factors as well
as create discipline in all over the healthcare system by creativity. It will help in assessment of
risk due to which so many problems can be eliminating from the health care organisation.
CONCLUSION
From the above project report it has been concluded that all the principles should be
properly enforced by the health and social care organisation in Great Britain. Principles of
support is used by hospitals in order to provide better services and treatment to all service users.
Various legislation and laws are followed such as RIDDOR, every child matters, Safeguarding
Vulnerable Group Act 2006 and many more help in providing effective services to disable
people and children. Service care should provide more care and attention to children by giving
them healthy food as well as safe and secure services. This will help to ensure that they have not
any kind of malnutrition.
