1. The social media has positive as well as negative impacts on health of nurse, at
the personal level as well as professional level. The unethical conduct on social
media can make legal issues. While I had login my Facebook account, I saw that I
was involved in the conversation with my friends. In that conversation, I had
written ‘what a bastard work tomorrow’. This comment was offensive. It was
easily accessible to the public. The people may also direct communicate with
hospital about this. It reflects the bad impact on my nursing profession. My
comment on Facebook was totally inappropriate. The public can question my
judgment as well as honesty. It is expected by the public that nurses act in a way to
uphold the faith of public in the profession. However, this misstep in social media
can put my license at risk. It may result in job termination or malpractice claim
2. The nurses are bound to perform the responsibilities to uphold the standards of
conduct consistent with norms governing the nursing profession at workstation and
also in personal life because of they are under the professional obligation. The
standards are related to the care of patient, cooperation with the medical
professional, honesty, ethics as well as accountability to make effective social
changes. The nurses are required to learn the rules at the time of schooling. The
quality control is effective way for the nurses to get professional skills and to
behave accordingly (Barber, 2019).

Further, the nurses have some obligations to advocate for their patients in the
hospital. They should work to enhance the legal rights of the patients. In the
capacity of advocate, the nurses should make sure that they have all the
qualifications. They should ensure that they have compelled with state licensure
regulations before conducting practice in the activities related to nursing. They are
also required to be attentive in against of the social group with impairment. In
addition, as a part of their accountability, the nurses have some duty to collaborate
completely with the whole team, such as nurses, surgeons as well as doctors (Ellis,
2017).
Furthermore, the ethical violation can lead the license’s loss discipline by state
nursing board. In addition, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
of 1996 (HIPAA), was enacted to secure the health insurance coverage of the
employees at the time of changing the job or leaving the job. The provisions of the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 makes sure the
privacy and confidentiality of recognized data related to health. The HIPAA
breach is the failure to confirm with the aspects of provisions as well as standards
of HIPAA in 45 CFR Parts 160, 162, along with 164 (Griffith & Tengnah,
2017). The violation of HIPAA is described in HIPAA section 164.402: “The
acquirement, right to use, or disclosure of secured health data in the way not
allowed that compromises the protection and confidentiality of the secured health
