Executive Summary
The main aim of the report is to provide an idea about Western Sydney local Health District. The
report would provide an idea of how strategic planning is made for an oral health service. The
assignment has provided an analysis of the service profile of WSLHD in terms of oral health. A
demographic analysis has been done along with the current health activities in the catchment and
the reverse catchment area. The report has also focussed on the future approaches or the models
of care that can be adopted to improve the oral care facilities. This paper has put forward some
goals with the necessary strategies. Finally the some recommendations has been provided along
with a succinct conclusion.

Development of a service plan related to oral health
Introduction
Oral health can referred to as the absence of any diseases in the oral cavity. Ill oral health
includes plaque, cavities, bad breath, bleeding gums and decaying of tooth and tooth loss. As per
the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australians spent about 40 % of its GDP in oral health
services. About 40 % of the Australian residents do not receive oral care facilities due to high
dental care cost (Chrisopoulos, Harford & Ellershaw, 2016).
This report would the contained a detailed planning of a dental service plan in Western
Sydney. The dental service plan will be constructed on the basis of a needs assessment that will
be conducted among the participants of Sydney. The goals and the strategies has been presented
in a tabular format with necessary recommendations.
