DISCUSSION TOPIC ONE
Quality healthcare delivery is a process that requires high attention as it is concerned with
double lives of either individual in question. For this reason, people handling the process should
have a driving workforce to enable maximum attention during the process. The two fundamental
factors that affect the delivery of quality services by the nurses include the availability of
advancement opportunities and the fulfillment of the psychological contract in workers.
The fulfillment of the psychological contract in nurses and midwives is one of the factors
for healthcare delivery. As said earlier, delivery requires high levels of accuracy and therefore
settling one’s psychological moments may boost the workforce required for the delivery hence
offering their best during the process. For instance, giving intangible and tangible awards
motivates nurses to deliver quality services (Corder and Ronnie, 2018). Instances of hospital-
acquired complications such as instrumental injuries are put into consideration with regards to
the psychological satisfaction of the nurses or midwives concerned. Avoidable events during
delivery such as wrong documentation are also captured in line with psychological fulfillment.
Advancement opportunities are also among the core factors for reducing the nurses’
turnover intentions, especially among younger nurses. Opportunities such as education
advancements and further improvements for more demanding opportunities and tasks should be
considered for the sake of boosting the workforce of nurses and midwives for healthcare
delivery. Some employees need to be trained on how to handle customer concerns and
complaints (Solomon, 2014). Doctors should give the nurses equal opportunities and moreover,
introducing them to more demanding tasks such as in the caesarean delivery to boost their
knowledge and the technical know-how on matters requiring complicated attention. Presence of

advancement opportunities in the workplace makes the nurses feel appreciated and motivated to
deliver high-quality services.
DISCUSSION TOPIC TWO
The conclusion in the Aiken et, al., 2017 article reveals two fundamental aspects. Firstly,
the results of the study present the bedside care workforce with professional nurses as effective
in enhancing better outcomes among the nurses and the patents (Aiken et, al., 2017).
Additionally, the study reveals reduced nursing skill mix as the resultant factor that promotes the
occurrence of the preventable deaths, reduced quality, and safety of the hospital care including
the reduction of the hospital nurses. This kind of information has a huge implication to the nurse
managers and bedside nurses. Firstly, it is the responsibility of the nurse managers to ensure that
the delivery of services to the patients is efficient, effective and meets the accreditation standards
(Graban, 2016). Therefore, the information in this conclusion acts as the background upon which
the nursing managers can make decisions for the achievement of their objectives. The
information guides the nursing managers to select professional individuals in the nursing staff as
a strategic approach in achieving good outcomes of the patients and the nurses.
Furthermore, the information advises the managers to promote training and development
programs for their nursing staffs to achieve nursing skill mix as a strategic approach to avoid
deaths, improve quality and enhance healthcare safety. The information also plays a vital role in
bedside nurses. For instance, the bedside nurses learn about their responsibility to engage in
training and development programs as a strategic approach in promoting their effectiveness and
satisfaction in the area of profession. Additionally, the information promotes interactions among
the bedside nurses fundamentally to promote the nursing skill mix through the sharing of
experiences and skills with the aim of enhancing effectiveness in the area of profession.
