1HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT Case study of CHCCOM003 I am a qualified dual diagnosis and youth worker since 9 years. I have much experiences in preventing the violence against women, mental treatment and also in the cases involving drug treatment and also taking appropriate interventions according to the cases involved. While workingontheseorganization,Ihavefacedseveralsituationswhereduetoineffective communication, the legal and ethical considerations had to be undertaken. During my working days I had to meet people belonging from different cultural and economic backgrounds and after facing those incidents, I understood the need to apply legal and ethical considerations for supporting the care of the services provided by us. The case study of the present situation involves one of those incidents, which forced me to implement my knowledge and capabilities as a youth and social worker for supporting a group of people who were suffering from mental issues. I need to share this incident as this incident has helped me a lot in the understanding of theculturalfactorsandalsoaneffectivesupportivesysteminvolvinglegalandethical considerations. In the previous year, for a certain period of time I was associated with a mental hospital, where many patients were there suffering from mental issues. The patients there though were not suffering from severe mental conditions. The patients of the hospital were receiving medicines from time to time and also the doctors were professionally very efficient. But I somehow found that the therapeutic relationship in between the doctors or nurses with the patients were not effective. Maintaining an effective therapeutic relationship is very essential among the patients and the hospital authority. However I found that there is no effective therapeutic relationship among the patients and the hospital authorities. The most important aspect of the therapeutic relationship is the trustthat the patients need to develop towards their doctors. However in this
2HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT hospital the doctors were least bothered about the need to develop trust with the patients. The doctors also need the consent of the patient for their treatment until the patients are not suffering from severe mental issues. The doctors need to infirm the patient about the type of the treatments they are supposed to get. The doctors are also supposed to tell the patients about the outcomes of the treatments that they are getting. The doctors of this hospitals were doing the treatments but were not asking for the permission of the patient regarding the treatment they are going to provide. Specially I meet four people there, who were very concerned about this matter but they were unable to do anything. I tried to bridge the gap in between the patients and the doctors, to make the doctors the need to tell the patients about the treatments they are supposed to receive. The objective of the above specified case study was to do the evaluation of my abilities as the professional social care while taking care of the patients suffering from mental issues. Case study of CHCDIV003 In order to serve people who requires an effective an immediate treatment to overcome the different health or mental issues that they are suffering social support groups or the care groups and the social care professionals, need to work with an organization. Even the service users however often suffers from critical discrimination which normally effects their support and care process. The social workers need to be culturally aware and also competent so that they can easily protect the persons who gets deviated from the society because of their habits. From my work experience of 9 years as working as the professional of dual diagnoses and youth working, I have learnt to understand in details about all these aspects at the time of working with the people who are fighting against all the addictions and the struggles for leading a normal and happy life.
3HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT Recent day researches have shown that smoking and drinking among the both and women is leading to make them suffer from different complications, specially the women are suffering the most as most of the women are unable to conceive after a certain period of time. In the year 2016, I was told to communicate with and to understand the concern of the people who were registered in the organization for consulting about the alcohol and smoking. I was among the supporter who were asked to make the people understand about the need to reduce the consumption of alcohol and smoking. Actually, the people require proper communication and counselling process so that they can understand in details the harmful effects of alcohol and smoking. I did the implementation of the ethical and cultural components in the care and support processes of by properly managing the process of taking care for the purpose of them to develop trust towards us and also towards the care giving policies. The people were allowed to speak on their own language so that they can tell every problems clearly and without any hesitation. I provided an improved support so that they can maintain the dignity and also a diversified and improved support was provided so that I could help her to overcome their habits of addiction. Thus the above stated situation may be an excellent and effective situation or may not be an excellent and effective situation in helping the people to maintain the cultural preferences for providing them with proper and adequate help to that they can relate to the support as well as care processes.
