objectives of HAIs commit to establish Healthy People 2020 of Health and Human Services
(HHS) for prevention mainly bloodstream. The HAIs consists of surgical site infections,

pneumonia. In this report, the aim is to prevent, reduce and eliminate HAIs discussing the
nursing practices based on evidence in hospitals for identification and justification of clinical
problems using PICO tool for appropriateness, criteria appraisal with recommending improving
HAIs in hospitals of Australia.
Indications of healthcare associated infections in healthcare settings
The HAIs is caused due to healthcare intervention outcomes which occurs in and outside
the hospitals such as bloodstream infections caused by the presence of an intravenous device or
any infected surgical wound at the time of surgical procedure wherein some cases it leads to
death in Australia (Russo, Cheng, Richards, Graves, & Hall, 2015).. It is challenging to quantify
the preventable proportion of HAIs as Australia is one of the developed countries without
national HAI surveillance program. The emergence of Carbapenemase-producing
Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) globally is the bacteria possess enzymes that hydrolyse the common of
