Healthcare Delivery System in the United States

This article discusses the issues with the healthcare delivery system in the United States, including the high cost of care, quality failures, and the need for improved population health results. The health care delivery system is not well coordinated to patients. This is due to various issues
remaining unsolved. Firstly, the cost of care is an intolerable burden in the United States of
America. It drains public funds at each level of government which by a bigger percentage eats
into the salaries. Secondly, the increased identification of quality failures worldwide outlined in
the report from the Land Mark Institute of Medicine human is to error. There is a need for the
system to boost quality. Thirdly, the emerging realization that other states attain improved
population health results with costs that are much lower with the allocated funds from the
national funds. Currently, the IDS works are in a progression path to significant quality and
efficiency (Goodwin, Stein, & Amelung, 2017).
The state has a sick care system although it ought to have a healthcare system whereby a higher
number of the American are having one or more than one grave chronic diseases that can be
prevented varying from diabetes type-2 to cancer. This chronic disease causes out of ten seven
deaths. The rates are anticipated to increase shortly especially because of the obesity epidemic
significantly. Indeed this modern healthcare structure is established to treat people when they get
ill as opposed to keeping people well in the first instance. The costs of healthcare are getting out
of hand, and there is a possibility that currently, the American children are the generation in
history to lead less healthy lives and shorter as compared to their parents (Osborn, Doty, Moulds,
Sarnak, & Shah, 2017).
Whereas the primary purpose of ACA is to advance the traditional health care access through the
development of health insurance choices that are cheaper, there exist special provisions which
provide access to secondary and primary prevention measures which include immunizations. A
lot of health planning is off late needed to offer preventive health assistance with no charges as
to coinsurance and copayment given that the service provider delivers them within the planned

schedule. The Prevention and Public Health Fund is a source of financing set up to offer
sustained and expanded federal research investments. Committed funding enables the health care
and the public health systems not to compete with various departments of government for the
few resources. Additionally, recently it is a requirement by The Internal Revenue Service for

and yearly record as to what level they have handled identified issues (Chait & Glied, 2018).
The Accountable Care Organization is much of a public preventive or health care based
wellness. For instance the fee-for-service system of healthcare in traditional medical
interventions, health insurance stakeholders compensate hospitals and physicians for the amount
of care offered and not the basis of the quality care provided. The ACOs model reduces the costs
of healthcare whereas improving the quality and care access. Hence, service to the public with
care by preventive or health wellness (McGlynn & McClellan, 2017).
