Over the years, many hospital acquired complications have emerged as a potential
problem. These are the complications for which risk mitigation strategies can reduce but
cannot necessarily eliminate the risk of occurring. Various complications in healthcare arise
due to social politics, changes in lifespan demography, increased as well as enhanced levels
of social literacy and mainly due to the extremely extravagant expenses seen in healthcare
offerings. Furthermore, many complications have been raised due to unnecessarily utilized
outpatient services pertaining to hospitals (Lee et al.2014).
Thus the implementation of methods related to alternative medicine as well as
modalities have posed serious problems among the case managers and associated healthcare
professionals. This essay encompasses the difficulties faced during the implementation of
EHRs in the healthcare systems and the potential problems faced by the case managers. Due
to various complications in the healthcare systems, the people who have been affected are
mainly nurses, health care professionals, staffs of the hospitals affected. Electronic health
records (EHR) have been introduced as an alternative of the manual process of the patients’
information which has been collected. According to (Wager, Lee & Glacer,2017),
implementation of Electronic records in nursing homes have led to various problems like
initial cost regarding the IT department, lack of enough IT members, and moreover the proper
lack of fiscal incentive. Moreover, the national estimates on EHR adaptation which is
involved in long term care are almost non- existent. According to studies carried among
health care professionals, it has been observed that there has not been any improvement in the
efficiency and quality of work done by the physicians and related healthcare professionals.
Moreover the case managers face difficulties in the usabilities which creates potential
problems in healthcare information systems. Poor EHR usability has been connected with
reduction of efficiency, decrease in the satisfaction levels of clinicians and issues which
would compromise the safety of the patient.
