Asthma has been considered to the one of the most important respiratory disorders in the
world. Over the years various people have been affected by asthma, the vulnerable group
mainly being children and elder people. It has been seen that a major population all across the
world have been affected by asthma. This report would discuss the clinical symptoms of
asthma followed by its pathophysiology, etiology and various factors regarding the treatment
of the disease. The future aim of this report would be directed at highlighting the gap in
medicinal research and aim towards faster recovery process of the disease.

the various treatment options available depending on the age group as well as severity of the
disease.
1. Asthma is the most common lung disorder which occurs due to inflammation
which ultimately causes swelling of the bronchi and the airways are narrowed
which simultaneously leads to the creation of breathing difficulties ranging
from mild symptoms to life threatening consequences. Almost 8.3% of the
people in United States suffer from asthma. Young children are the most
vulnerable group and are at the highest risk of developing asthma.

seen especially during the morning and night and main symptoms like shortness of breath.
When the symptoms are in excess quantities it is known as asthma attack. The main

well as long term control medicines for the prevention of the symptom.
