INTRODUCTION
Heritage tourism can be defined as travelling experience to historic locations and artefacts
that explains stories of past and present. It is a part of tourism which helps all the visitors to know
about cultural, historical and natural things at various heritage destinations like museum (Ashworth
and Larkham, 2013). Britain has vast history in a heritage sector which attracts local and global
visitors to visit these places. The present report describes development of heritage and cultural
sector in the United Kingdom. It explains the aim of heritage and cultural attractions. In addition to
this, it also represents roles, responsibilities and ownerships in the same industry.

Government of UK contributes effective role in Heritage and cultural sector to increase its
growth and development in an appropriate manner. They also help in increasing financial condition
of this sector like better contribution in the GDP (Gross domestic Product). Further, they give many
efforts to develop this heritage industry in the nation.

Britain also encourages private tours and travels to increase their working operations at the heritage
