Introduction
For attracting the huge number of visitors from all around world heritage and culture location
play very important role. There are so many historical locations in the United Kingdom which
attract a large number of tourists in the country. British Museum, the National Maritime
Museum, and The Queen's House are some of the most popular heritage sites in the UK. This
assignment report is categories into four sections which assist in understand regarding heritage
and culture in a proper manner. There are several kinds of conflicts which occur in the
conservation of heritage and cultural resources. People have different needs and demands which
is necessary to be fulfilled by heritage department. There are so many different organisations
such as national trust, Heritage lottery fund, and woodland which work for management of
heritage and culture locations. These organisations assist in the conservation and growth of
heritage and cultural locations. There is so many media method used for proper interpretation of
the cultural and heritage location. Heritage and cultural sites of country attract a large number of
people from all around the world for visiting the country. It is a major responsibility of heritage
and culture management to fulfil needs and demand of visitors for enhancing profitability and
success.

1.1 Analyse the growth and development of the heritage and cultural industry
There are high growth and development in heritage as well as cultural sites in the United
Kingdom that attract so many visitors in the country. Every year a huge number of tourists
comes to visit attractive and famous places in the UK (Ashworth and Larkham, 2013). Heritage
and cultural sites play a major role to attract visitors in the country through which this industry
generates a huge amount of income. There is so many famous and popular location in the United
Kingdom because of which people come from all around the world. The UK is one of most
developed and popular country because of its beautiful nature, heritage, cultural and environment
that attracts the huge number of people in the nation. Heritage and cultural sector contribute so
much towards the development of the economy so it is essential to protect heritage sites.

Introduction
It is very much important for every country to conserve natural resources. In the UK, there are
so many conflicts arises in Spain and Italy that stop conservation of cultural and heritage
resources. Heritage and culture play the major role to attract a huge number of visitors from all
around the world. In the UK there are so many cultural and heritage sites that attract a large
number of tourist every year. There are so many famous and popular heritage and culture sites
in the UK that attract people to visit the country. Barcelona and Venice are two most famous
cities in Spain and Italy where the huge number of tourist come every year. In Venice and
Barcelona tourism practices increase day by day because of their heritage sites. People like to
visit heritage and cultural places so it is the responsibility of the management of heritage and
cultural sites to provide them good quality services to satisfy their needs and demand.
It is very important to make development and conservation of culture and heritage resources.
There are so many conflicts that arise during this process so it is essential to remove them
effectively. In the UK, there are several conflicts arises which are as follows:
The huge rush of People: While conservation as well as the development of heritage and culture
resources, a rush of people is one of the major conflicts (Chin, et. Al., 2014). Visitors cause harm to
natural resources that impact negatively on heritage as well as cultural locations. There are so many
people who do illegal practices to destroy the heritage location. People do not make any efforts in
conservation of cultural as they are not aware of the heritage and cultural location.
Renovation: During conservation and development of heritage and cultural sites several chances of

conflicts arises related to the natural resources There is a chance of risk while renovation of heritage
and cultural sites. So many times location is damaged during the renovation that causes loss as well as
reduces the tourist number in Venice and Barcelona.
Illegal construction: Barcelona and Venice face so many problems during the conservation and
development of heritage and cultural sites in the country or attracting huge visitors. Some people do
illegal construction beside the heritage location due to which those sites get damage. People stop to
visit that types of sites where illegal construction has done by some people and also stop the
conservation of heritage sites (Chiabai, et. al., 2013).
Lack of funds: For the development and conservation of heritage sites, the proper amount of funds is
required which is given by the government or other 6organisation that works for the development of
heritage and cultural location. Ancient monuments society, Black environment network and
Architectural heritage funds are some of this organization that provides funds for the management of
heritage sites.
Lack of awareness among residents: People who live in Spain and Italy are not aware as much about
the heritage and cultural resource because of this reason they do not make efforts to conserve the
cultural resources (Long, 2013). Most of the people think that it’s not their responsibility to conserve
heritage and cultural sites. The government of Italy and Spain should spread awareness among
resident of Venice and Barcelona so that this will help in attracting a huge number of visitors in the
country.
Conclusion
It is concluded by analysing above part of the report that in Spain and Italy, there are so many
conflicts occurs while doing conservation of heritage and cultural sites in the country. It is
important to make development and conservation of heritage sites for attracting a huge number
of visitors. Conservation is that practice which helps to promote tourism and travel industry at
large area. Lack of funds, a huge rush of people and lack of awareness among people are some
of the major causes that occur during the conservation of heritage and cultural sites.
