Travel and tourism is one of the emerging sector in respect of economic and cultural growth of the
nation. Heritages and culture introduce the morality and sociality of the country of the country in front of
the world. Potential issues and conflicts in the conversation of heritage and cultural resources elaborated
in this context. Purpose of cultural and heritage attractions with in the travel and tourism covered in this
context. Various type of management and ownership of heritage and cultural sites are highlighted.
Heritage: It is considered as a legacy and tradition which reflect the cultural and traditional image of the
nation. Heritage and culture are the essential elements of travel and tourism sectors of any country. These
are known as the property and assets passed on through ancestors or get by inheritance. It belongs to the
traditions and cultural followed by the people in ancient time. Heritages and cultural are driven to next
generation to maintain them in the same form as they were in the past decades. With the changing trends
there are some modifications are done by the local authorities and government to protect heritages and
culture. Changes and modification do not take place the original form and the base of heritages and
culture.
Natural: Beautiful landscapes, hills and mountains, green parks and garden, national parks and forests,
woods, Archaeological locations, transportation and industrial heritage and sites are considered in natural
aspect. These are the main factors which highly affect the heritage and culture with in travel and tourism
sector. Natural aspects play vital role to from point of view of visitors and tourist attraction.
Natural: So Many natural places are there which attract millions of visitors every year. One of the main
benefit of travel and tourism concept is that it ensures maintenance of historical places and at the same
time help in save cultural values and promote the same with the visitors. It is very essential that proper
services should be offer to visitors so they can be encouraging to visit again and economy can be
developed. Constructed: Many of the countries and nations are understanding the importance of
heritages and culture subject to building a traditional image in the world. Subject to this matter country
Heritage culture in travel and tourism sector in the UK have given valuable contribution
subject to growth and development of UK. Government of the UK also put efforts to enhance
and grow the heritage and culture in travel and tourism sector. Travel and tourism is one of
the growing sector in the UK which is helping the economy and reflecting heritage and
cultural image in front of world. There is huge number of visitors and tourist were
rerecording from past decades in the UK.
Before 1945: During that time period, people lived in agricultural societies started move
from the local area. In that era, sector of travel and tourism was inconsistent as there was not
a technology through which services can be offered to visitors. Growth of travel sector was
limited due to lack of transportation but at the end of this time period, different services start
offering travel packages to various individuals. During this time, mainly there were many
natural places to visit such as gardens, green parks, hills and landscapes.
1945-1979: This was the time where development of travel and tourism sector took place.
Different facilities such as accommodation and transportation developed and this increase the
traffic of visitors. Various modifications are done by tour operators to grasp the attention of
more number of customers. During this time, government and other authorised bodies started
protect the cultural and heritage sites. Main aim of heritage and culture is to make the
country pride.
Cultural heritage: Culture reflect the costumes, traditions, lifestyle, morality and social
environment of the country. Cultural heritages are passed from one decade to another decades
or one generation to another generation. This specify the society and the culture followed by
the people of nation and communities. Government and authorised bodies control and protect
heritages and cultural assets of the country. Importance of heritage and culture are defined to
the public and citizen by the organisation through awareness and campaign programs. Role
heritage and culture in making the country pride are driven by the government to the
communities and society.
1980 to present: In this time period, so
many airlines firms started and offer
different kind of services to passengers such
as medical, insurance and other. From year
1990 major development took place that
impact travel sector and its different
operations. Today, every enterprise
operating under travel and tourism sector
utilise update technology in order to offer
quality services to visitors. So many man
made attractions developed in order to
increase the number of visitors and to
generate more revenues. Concept of
globalisation is the one that encourage
government to implement liberalisation in
policies related with passport and visa.
Heritage and culture are becoming the main
strength of travel and tourism sector of UK.
Heritage based tourism economy growth is
measured in three sections such as GDP
growth, employment, expenditure and
visitation. There was a venomous growth
and development seen in London,
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool.so many
sites are developing in various places which
attract so many visitors every year and this
help in generate more profits and provide an
opportunity to earn foreign exchange. This
contribute in economic growth of nation and
also improve standard of living of people.
From the above given information, it can be
summarised that various developments have
taken place in travel and tourism sector.
Today, effective strategies are implemented
by tour operators in order to attract more
number of visitors.
