INTRODUCTION
Today tourism is one of the fastest growing sector in world as number of development
have take place in this sector. Increasing level of consumer's income influence them to visit the
various places. Today visitors go to various destinations not with the aim of spending their time
about with the purpose of getting some knowledge and insight about the events done in the past.
Tourism provide opportunity to various countries to earn foreign exchange that is the main
reason why this area got the attention of various firms. Development and growth which took
place in this sector till now, is all explained under this report. Main purpose of different kind of
visitors and how ownership of firm affect the activities of tourism is also mentioned under this.
Along with this, various methods and tools which can be used by the firms for doing
interpretation about the tourists is all detailed under this report.

Lhasa is known as the second highly populated city situated at staggering 3450 metres all this
make the city located at highest peak. This place is administrative centre and is known as
religious capital from the 17th Century. This city has so much importance because of having
places such as potala palace and Norulingka palaces. Potential conflicts which exist or can rise
in the conservation of heritage and cultural resources have two main vial elements. First is that,
it has a negative aspect which is increasing number of customers will impact the infrastructure
development of culture and heritage of that area. The second aspect is positive which is that
increasing number of travellers will increase the revenues of the government and this will also
increasing the standard of living of the local people, various facilities of citizens and ,many
more. So in this situation there is need to use a balance approach which will help in earning a
high amount of revenues and at the same time will maintain the flow of visitors in that area.
For solving the conflicts it is very necessary to first identify the main stakeholders included in
the whole. As per the given case study large number of individuals are there which are included
in the process such as investors, government, communities, travel agencies, global community,
environmentalists and tourist. Main reason behind rising the conflicts is due to initiate of
various projects by the government in that region. Projects such as road building and resort
Lhasa paradise are build by the hotel group. Further they are trying to renovate the Barkhor
town and at the same time doing efforts for building the theme park. All these are the main
issues raised by London based NGO and stated that all these projects are main threat to the
cultural and heritage values and this will impact their religious sentiments.
Further various points are stated by the NGO in order to boycott the project from Tibet. Main
reason of this was The Resort in Paradise and IHG hotels was ignoring the rule of government.
Further they describe the establishment of hotel in the Barkhor district with the aim of utilise all
the resources.
There is a need to balance all the commercialisation activities of heritage and cultural in the
Barkhor District. For this various efforts has to be made by the government to restoring the
religious structure which is rise due to the increasing number of visitors. Before executing
anything it is very important that to plan that on paper so that substantive growth can be
achieved. In this way, government will be able to control the religious sentiments and can add
value in the standard of living of people. So NGO of London need to find a middle path for
solving the issues and to better satisfy the needs and ants of stakeholders.

customers
There is no doubt that various heritage and cultural sites are centre of attraction of large
number of visitors. Number of proofs are there which shown an increment in the number of
visitors. These places play an important role as they attract number of travellers every year. Sites
having cultural values help in upholding the values, ethics, and behaviour of individual related
with the specific culture. Main purpose which are fulfilled by various visitors by heritage and
cultural places can be understood by the following points
Entertainment: There are large number of travellers who go to various places for the purpose of
entertainment and various heritage and cultural sites are seen as place of having high level of
entertainment. People go with their family, friends and peers with the purpose of learning
something new and for entertainment (Alberti and Giusti, 2012). After visiting these places visitors feel high level of satisfaction as these places are a big
part of human history. Various programmes are designed by the British museum for
making the place more attractive and to attract more travellers. Historical importance: One of the main reason of people behind visiting these places is
to getting knowledge about the history and past. These sites state about the history and
past figures. This provide an insight to individuals about the developments that took place
in the past. British museum provide opportunity to the visitors to understand history of
different countries and cities.
Recreational purpose: Today number of people are depending on technology and technical
gadgets. They do not have time to go and visit the places to get knowledge about them. But
British museum provide them an opportunity to relieve the time faced by their ancestors
(Ashworth and Larkham, 2013). The main reason why people opt these places to go because these provide them lot of
information and knowledge and give them a chance to learn something new. Educational value: Various historical sites provide lot of knowledge and information to
number of individuals. Schools and colleges also prefer these type of trips as this enhance
the knowledge level of their students. Victoria also design number of educational

programmes for students. Further this provide an opportunity to various visitors to get
and learn a lot of things about the historical events and places. Research: One of the main reason why number of travellers opt these type of sites for
travelling is because it help them in revealing the fact about the past. Various institutes
also provide various support facilities for enhancing the knowledge individuals.
 Sense of unity: There are various historical sites which help in creating a unity among
number of communities. Cooperation among these sites encourage the individuals and
visitors to learn new things easily.

Various tools and techniques of media are there which can be used by the enterprises
interpreting the whole experience of visitors related with an historic site. This assist and provide
guidance related with the development and expansion of heritage and culture industry. This come
under the main task of these firm to boost up the tourism (Ashworth and Page, 2011).
Main advantage of doing interpretation is that it provides an opportunity to the firm to assess the
perception of tourists about the various historical places. Further this help in identifying the
loopholes exist in the current system and remove them.
A process include three steps can be used by the firms for doing interpretation called
understanding, appreciation and protection (Chiabai, Paskaleva and Lombardi, 2013). Mainly
this helps in optimise the experience of visitors and increasing their knowledge. This increase the
accountability and effectiveness of management. Collect statical data is not the main aim of
interpretation but to collect data in order to enhance the effectiveness of business activities is the
main aim of doing interpretation. Collected information help museums in increasing the quality
of its services. Every museum use different method of interpretation. For example British
museum use different method of interpretation as compared with the other museums. They first
collect information about the background of individuals and than prepare attendants to better
serve and fulfil the needs of customers. Further use of social media is also done by the British
museum where the firm release the important fundamental facts about all the objects displayed in
the museum. All this help in creating a effective and successful marketing campaign. Interactive
videos also used by the firms as this positively influence the customers. Various platforms are
used by the both Albert and Victoria museum to facilitate people about the various historical
items and artefacts in an effective and in an interactive manner. Firm arrange all its items in a
category with sticker notes. Further a well establish online portal is used b y the firm which have
a access to the scientific community. Common people can also assess this for getting
information.
Students are also employ by the firm who come from the field of research and spend their
free time in guiding people around the museum. Analysis centre of museum provide right data to

is very necessary for a country. This provide continuous profits to the government and aids in

area. For maintaining the number of travellers it is very necessary for the firm to first identify
the main purpose behind the tourism of visitors by doing this they can better satisfy their needs
and wants. Type of ownership also affect the activities of this industry and number of visitors.
Public ownership is more beneficial in this factor as this do various efforts for delivering the
effective and quality services to number of travellers. By effectively perform their roles and
responsibilities both private and public enterprise can attract large number of travellers. Further
there are number of tools which can be used for influencing the visitors to visit the place.
