1.2 Discuss potential conflicts in the conservation of heritage and cultural resources
Conflict in conversation of cultural and heritage sector
Date: 22- July-2017
There are different kind of conflicts take place in developing tourism industry. These
conflicts can take place between organisation and government. Culture is very dynamic in
nature. It can be change according to different point of view by the different people. China is
facing many difficulties in meeting the customers expectations. Tourism is showing positive
outcome on social tradition. Culture and heritage are the place which attract the clients and by
this government is getting more revenues and income. There are many issues place by
government regrading the Tibet. These issues are regarding the development and advancement
of cultural tourism.
There are many strategies are formulating by this which issues can be resolved and some
good solution can be formulated (Barbieri and Mahoney, 2010). To find of the issues which is
taking places in cultural tourism. It is important to considered two factors. The first one is the
negative factors which are affecting cultural and heritage of country and second one is
generating income by constructing and developing different areas. By which heritage and
cultural can be promoted. This promotion can help in generating the awareness and bring
development in that particular area. By the proper coordination of these two factors the conflicts
can be prevented. The stakeholders also should know about these factors and get well aware
about it so that if any situation is taking place that can be handle in proper manner. Stake
holders refers to Suppliers, customers, government, employees, media and others.
The conflicts regarding the Lhasa paradise resort is identify by the IHG. There are
multiple of projects are started by the government of china so that they can bring the growth and
development. The campaign has been made which is called Free Tibet. This was made
regarding the park and Barakhor town. By this many initiate has been boycott. These people are
working for the projects which are imposed by government for the development. When the
resort is established it can increase the number of visitors as they are getting good
accommodation to stay (Chen and Chen, 2010). So it is Analyse that it have impact on the
culture and heritage of nation. The conflicts arise when the government wants to bring this
resort project because they think they can bring new culture and heritage to country. But the
people of Tibet is not agreed with government. As they are more worried about old heritage of
1

Tibet. This two different perceptive tends to generate conflicts. As china people start visiting
Tibet more the language of Tibetan can be vanished. That is why people are afraid about the
future situations.
Tibet people are very much against by this decision of government because they do not
what other cultural to enter into their heritage. In this case the government introducing many
projects in China (Choi and et. al, 2010). These projects can affecting the beauty of Tibet. By
this tourism can also be affected. So government to measure to resolve this problem. The
conflicts between cultural and conservation of heritage are given below.
Presentation of sites: It is one of the conflicts as nation is not able to present the beauty
of particular place. By this there is less attraction of people. Because of this the
customers are not getting the proper information about the place.
Threats against the proper growth: As the government decided to bring more projects.
They are not using the updated resources. This may damage the natural beauty of the
place. As beauty is lost the number of visitors can also be reduce.
Technologies: Technology concept is very important. Government need to use the
updated technology so that the can develop the cultural in positive manner without
harming any natural beauties. The training and development should given to the
employees so that the can manage the visitors and place in proper manner.
Poor use of land: The government is not doing the proper planning regarding the land
and this tend to reduce the number of visitors. So the measure should be taken so that
customer needs and wants can be fulfilled (Cuccia and Rizzo, 2011).
From my point of view instead of boycott the effective strategies can be made so that
both parties can get equal benefits. By this development of country also take place and the
heritage and cultural should all be maintain. By this more number of visitor can visit the place
and get the new facilities which bring the satisfaction.
