INTRODUCTION
Today, travel and tourism are known as one of the fast-growing sector in world as
number of development are take place in this. One of the main reason behind development of
this sector is increase level of customer's income which encourage and influence them to visit
different places (Alberti and Giusti, 2012). Number of travellers go and visit various places with
purpose of recreation and to get information about the past events happened in that places.
Today, every country encourage tourism as this provide an opportunity to earn foreign exchanges
and ta the same time it contributes a lot in economic development of a nation. Four seasons
travel, a travel and tourism firm based in United Kingdom is taken under this report for study.
Number of development which took place in this sector and purpose of various visitors to visit a
specific place is also given in this. In addition to this, main methods which can be travel firms to
interpret the number of tourists and various other information is all given in this.

visitors and travellers. Due to lack of transportation and another facilities growth of this
sector was limited. But at the end of this period a many tour firms started offering tour
packages.
1945-1979: At this time, development of travel and tourism sector took place. Various
facilities such as transportation and accommodation developed which helped in increase
the number of visitors. Tour operators of United Kingdom started some variation in tour
packages to attract more number of visitors. Government also started do investments in
this sector to earn foreign exchange.
1980 to present: This as the time in which large number of airlines firms started offer
various services and facilities to visitors such as insurance, medical service and many
more. Form 1990 major development took place which largely affect this industry and its
various operations.
At present every travel and tour organisation use new and updated technology to offer effective
services to visitors. Further, various improvements in transportation has taken place which has
change the industry a lot. In addition to this, concept of globalisation encourage government to
implement liberalisation related with visa and passport facility.
Development and growth
Today every country encourages its tourism to enhance the number of visitors as this
bring foreign exchange in country and contribute a lot in economic development of a nation.
Government also play a big role in this and to increase effectiveness it has form a partnership
with various private enterprises. Government of UK is also searching new ways to increase
numbers of travellers.

Lack of presentation of places: Lack of present the significant places before the visitors and the
local individuals is one of the major conflict. Lack of awareness hinder the governmental
support and also affect the protection of place.
Disrespect the interest and basic right of visitors: If home country fails to protect the personal
interest and basic right of host country and of its local people then this affect the beliefs,
knowledge and activities of tourism negatively.
Fail to interpret the physical attribute: Misinterpretation of physical resources require to
execute the tourism activity such as intangible and tangible resources. All this results in narrow
down the activity of tourism.
Ineffective planning and poor use of land: In order to increase the number of visitors and to
offer them effective services and facilities, proper planning is must. For this, it is very important
that conflicts between tourism project and cultural heritage should be minimise. Further,
analysis of lifestyle of tourists must be done by ho,e country in order to make the experience of
tourists a better one.
Conservation threat against growth: It is very essential that heritage and cultural sites needs to
be upgraded on continuous basis. If planners do not upgraded the sites on timely basis and do
not develop it then it decrease the number of visitors.
Brown sites vs green field sites: Proper consideration should be given by tour enterprises like
where to keep brown field and where to keep green field. This help in maintain the number of
visitors otherwise affect the same adversely.
Lack of new technology and innovation: It is very essential that new and advance technology

those places which uphold some values, ethics, and features of a specific culture. Number of
visitors visit various sites of tourism for their own purpose such as education, recreation,
entertainment, research or many more. To attract more number of visitors it is very important for
tour enterprises to first identify and analyse the purpose of visitor behind his travelling. These
purposes can be better understood by following points: Entertainment: This is one of the most popular purpose for which large number of
visitors visit and go to various cultural and heritage places. Large number of visitors go
with their friend and family members with aim of learn something new and for
entertainment. Visit these places provide high satisfaction to travellers as all these relate
with history of human beings. For example: British museum design and formulate

Yap, 2014). Use of these tools in an effective manner is very important in order boot and
encourage the industry of tourism. Interpretation helps tour enterprises to analyse the perception
of travellers relate with the place of tourism which help in attract more number of tourists. In
addition to this, it helps in identify and remove if any loophole exists in the current system.
There is a procedure which can be use by tour operators for interpretation. This consists
three steps known as understanding, appreciation and protection. All this help in make the
experience of a traveller a better one and increase their knowledge related with the place of
tourism (Standing, Tang-Taye and Boyer, 2014). All this enhance the effectiveness of various
activities and at the same time increase accountability of management. Basically, interpretation is
