Topic 1- Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is is any unwelcome lewd gesture or conduct on the job that makes a scary, threatening, or hostile workplace (nolo.com, n.d). When an employee complains that he or she is encountering inappropriate behavior of any sort, the business has a legitimate, moral, and worker relations commitment to investigate the charges thoroughly.
EEOC interprets and enforces Title VII's prohibition of sex discrimination as forbidding any employment discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. According to EEOC.gov, "although the law doesn't prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted)".
The employee may be able to sue depending on the state he lives in and if it is a private workplace.
