Abstract
Accounting, as a profession, is reckoned as one of the oldest white color job since the
inception of business in global perspective. With the increasing complexity of business
environment, the need of accountant is getting intense. In Australia, the need of
accountant is also observed in different segment. Mainly this article will concentrate on
the issue of employment opportunities in corporate accounting at Australia. Present
trends of employment options are widened through online job portal, which give
convenient scope for both employers and aspirant candidates to meet in a common
online platform to exchange needs of both the parties. This article will provide an idea of
this concept by taking real life examples of job opportunities available in different online
job portals of Australia related to positions of corporate accounting. The demand of this
analysis is to get answers related to different questions of corporate accounting job
opportunities by online job portals. This article will also emphasize on the requirements
of corporate accounting jobs from the candidature viewpoint related to desired
qualification and experience as per the demand of the employers related to respective
role and tasks and good understanding of corporate accounting jobs in Australia.

business promotion. For running any business, the role of corporate accountants cannot
be denied. In Australia, the demand of corporate accountant is increasing as per the
growing demand of Australian business. For connecting right candidate in this segment,
the employers use to depend upon the online job portals, which provide convenient
platform for the employers and the candidates. The employers advertise with their
needs about accounting employment and the aspirant candidates apply for the post.
The main advantage of this type of job advertisement in online portals is its time
flexibility. This flexibility of time period from online job portal advertisements gives the
employer good mileage with cost effective impact. This feature proves the worth of
online job portal for employers as well as for employees. The requirement of employers
is mentioned in brief and concise manner in those job portals to make the employees
aware of matching those requirements of employers by their credentials. There are
certain technical features of accounting jobs to be mentioned in the advertisements,
which can attract right person for the position of corporate accountant. This article will
discuss all relevant information about the advertisements in online job portals for
corporate accountant of Australia with the specific features like the requirements, role,
tasks and respective deliverables in context with MPA and Hi5020 corporate accounting
courses prevailing in Australia.
Source-wise analysis of advertisement considered
For this case study, thirty samples are selected from four different online job portals of
Australia related to corporate accountant and financial accountant. It is observed that
best source of advertisement is proved to be seek.com contributing 15 sample
advertisements. (seek, n,d) The second contributor is indeed.com with 12 sample
advertisement. Adzuna.com has contributed with two samples while Hays has
contributed one sample. All these advertisements are related to corporate accountant
and financial accountant. (Mallory, n.d)

While analyzing the samples considered for this case study, it is inferred that there are
different employers advertise in online job portals for employment or selection of right
candidate to meet their requirement. It is also found that the employers either advertise
directly in the online job portals or through the human resource solutions provider. The
employers selected for this case study are mainly from ASX listed companies. It can
also be noticed that there are numbers of instances, where the name of the employer
was not mentioned. Basic reason for this hiding of name is the employer advertised
through human resource providers, who did not want to disclose their client names.

There is another analysis of considered samples as per industries. It is found that most
of the employment opportunities (seven) are offered by finance and infrastructure
companies. Mining companies advertised three of these samples considered. Two
companies each of energy; human resource solutions; and IT distribution and service
sectors have advertised for qualified corporate accountants. Industries namely E-
commerce and financial services, entertainment, FMCG, organic food and retail chain
segment have advertised one each. This projection is determinant to derive the HR
turnover of the respective industries.

The guideline for selection of job opportunities is to consider corporate accountant and
corporate financial accountant. It is followed with the basic nomenclature of job titles
with deviation of designation name as per the advertisement selected for this case

study. The position of corporate accountant contributes highest with sixteen instances of
the samples selected. Second contributor is financial accountant with eight instances.
Corporate financial accountant has appeared two times in these samples, while
corporate assistant accountant; corporate financial control accountant, senior corporate
accountant and senior corporate accountant-technical are appeared with one instance
each.
