Introduction (Self-reflection- A short discussion)
In this project study, the self reflection for all the 12 weeks have been made in regards to the
concept and learning regarding Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Social Networks in
Business. The self-reflection refers to as the constructive as well as systematic process which is
aimed at identifying learning through different events and activities (William, et. al., 2015). The
overall conclusion of report is also highlighted at the end of assignment.
Week 1
During the first week of research project I was able to understand the nature, strategies, process
and motto of business research. In this week I learned about the application of theories,
procedures, systems and others that are necessary for conducting the research study in an
efficient and effective manner. I get to know about the basic understanding of research study and
the way in which respective research can be carried out. In the first week our tutor has also
instructed with a video presentation regarding the research elements and system which is to be
carried out systematically.
Week 2
The learning and skills which I gathered from this week is related to the research design and
research planning. This is very crucial for the starting-up of any project study. It is significant to
design and choose specific research methods so that accurate and reliable data can be obtained
and analysed. There are various types of research approaches such as qualitative, quantitative,
cross-sectional design, longitudinal design and many others which helped conducting the project
effectively. It is helpful in future course of action when I will be pursing for research analysts
type of job.
Week 3
The week third helped in gaining knowledge and learning about writing of business research. In
this week the main emphasis has been weigh on literature review section which is another most
important section of overall project study. From this week I get to learn about tool, sources,
techniques, approaches, framework and others that are used in the literature review.

Week 4
In my project study I have focused more on gaining secondary research data as it provides with
valid and authenticate data or facts. In addition to this, I also learned about formulation of
hypothesis and assumptions which are important aspect of project study as these are the variables
and elements which are needed to be test in whole project study. There is a great impact of
choosing right and appropriate research design because the findings and results oriented are
highly dependent upon it. With the help of knowledge of selection of research design and
methodology I get to understand how it can be applied to the business practice.
Week 5
From this week I observed that the literature review is basically collected from the secondary
source of data where, the data has already been researched and analysed by list of authors. The
use of books, journal article, websites, pdf and others are assessed in this week. The video was
very helpful for me in order to complete the research study. Moreover, the knowledge I gained
from this week will last long for my professional career also.
Week 6
I have gained various learning and enhanced my knowledge regarding the subject matter which
is very crucial for my future course of action as well. In this week I also learned about preparing
of interview or questionnaire that is used for collecting data. The data collected and facts
gathered are very important aspects of research study.
Week 7
From this week I learned about the secondary data and its analysis using conceptual framework,
designs, graphs and other medium. For deriving the accurate and reliable results it is important to
have qualitative analysis of data significantly so that impact of one variable on other variable can
be assessed.

Week 8
The topic and research element which has been discussed in this week is regarding the sampling
method. The lecturer has provided with sampling knowledge so it can be applied to the
respective project study. The quantitative research helps in generating of accurate data and can
be justified with the present facts and figures.
Week 9
In this week we have equipped with concept of semi-structure interviews and designing of
questionnaire so that relevant data can be collected and analysed. I learnt about the ways in
which a questionnaire can be developed and framed. I have selected the qualitative research
approach with exploratory research design so as to gather in-depth knowledge and skills
regarding advantages and disadvantages of social media tools and techniques.
Week 10
In the tenth week I learned about the observation skills which are in regards to the interview and
questionnaire. The survey has also been conducted with some respondents through interview
questions and data of derived from respondents have been reviewed and analysed accordingly. I
learned how to use and interpret data in this week.
Week 11
In the eleventh week the main emphasis of lecturer has been weighted on the usage of statistical
figures regarding the merits and demerits of social media. I have collected data from the official
websites and learnt how to inculcate it into real life practices. The topic of my assignment is
“Advantages and disadvantages of social media in business” which is a contemporary topic and
issue in the business organizations.
Week 12
In the week twelve we have been acknowledged with the learning relating to linking with
qualitative as well as quantitative data. For obtaining fair and accurate results it is important to

make use of both the research approach. I learned about the benefits of using mixed approach in
any research study.
Conclusion
It is concluded from the overall project study that the main of project study is to expand
knowledge and understanding related to use of social media and its significance in current
business practices. I assessed that the research is an important aspect in the current scenario and
is useful my future professional career also.
