Analysis of HIPAA, Electronic Health Records and Quality Improvement Initiatives in Healthcare Information Management

This study analyzes the critical needs of healthcare facilities, evaluation of HIPAA, electronic health records, quality improvement initiatives, issues on successful implementation, the relation between HIPAA, electronic health records and quality improvement initiatives, requirement of IT administration, policies and human resource guidelines for healthcare facilities. The study concludes that compliance with medical laws, maintenance and upgrade of technological parameters and incorporation of new database management systems are essential for proper maintenance of patient health records.

Introduction
The health services of USA generally focus on providing effective treatment to the patients and
quality working environment for the healthcare practitioners. The clinicians offer cost-effective
treatment to the patients suffering from several diseases. The process for providing sufficient
security, compliance, and assistance will help in the establishment of efficient healthcare
services. For effective healthcare services the use, issues, and relation to HIPPA, electronic
health records and use of quality improvement initiative will be analyzed in this study (Ben-
Assuli, 2015). The concluding part of the study will summarize the whole discussion followed by
outlining some key concepts regarding the importance of effective health care practices by using
updated technology.

Evaluation of the HIPAA
Health Insurance Accountability and Portability Act (1996) is a health insurance act that is used
to standardize the healthcare facilities regarding the electronic healthcare. Moreover, this states
the disclosure of the information at the individual level. The privacy rules should be
implemented according to the act which helps in maintaining the data of the patient. It is
