Creating Awareness about HIV/AIDS: A Community Level Approach

Background of the problem
 HIV AIDS can be defined as a disorder
that leads to suppressed immunological
response of the body (Lansky et al.,
2014)
 In accordance with the recent statistical
figures, it has been predicted that 1.1
million of the youth population in the U.S
are affected with AIDS (Hall et al., 2013)
 Studies reveal that there is an 8%
increase in the number of people
infected with AIDS each year (Johnson et
al., 2014)

Research Rationale:
 The alarming rate of increase in the
prevalence rate of HIV has emerged
out to be a major concern at the
national level
 The rationale for conducting the
research is to create awareness
among a community population so
as to encourage prior testing to
detect the infection
