Introduction
1. Attention-Getter: Homelessness and poverty are some of the biggest issues that are
causing high concerns amongst the government as well as sociologists.
2. Thesis: It has been monitored that due to the increasing problem of immigration and
increasing number of refugees in the country it can be said that the government is
monitoring high amount of homelessness (Thompson et al., 2013).
3. Preview of Main Points: Milwaukee is witnessing significant housing problems. In
addition to this, poverty and lack of ability to afford the basic amenities are affecting
the country. Hope House is a well-known and one of the biggest non-governmental
organization of the country that is working towards eradicating these problems. The
speech hence primarily focus on the present scenario of homelessness amongst the
common people. The speech next then will focus on the issues of poverty and
malnutrition as burning issues in the present scenario.

Main Point 1: Homelessness
A) It is widely known that due to social turmoil and economic unrest of the country
the lifestyles of the common citizens get affected many a times. In addition to this,
it is also to be mentioned that the along with the increasing population and the
increasing turmoil in the international political scenario, the number of
immigration are increasing along with passing days. It has also been noticed that
due the higher living costs and governmental taxation policies the costs of living
in the cities are significantly (Mdodo et al., 2015). As a result it has been
monitored that the common people are finding it difficult to keep up with the
increasing costs and the number of homeless people are increasing in an alarming

rate. In this regard it can also be said that being one of the largest cities in the
United States, Milwaukee is witnessing significant housing problems.
B) In addition to this, sociologists have also pointed out that the common people of
the United States as well as of Milwaukee are not only facing difficulties in
keeping up with the housing and rents but they are also facing difficult times in
order to combat with the continuous increasing expenses of living (Skarbinski,
2015). As result the of this it can be observed that city as well as the United States
have monitored rise of homelessness and lack of ability to maintain livelihood. To
combat with this situation the local as well as the state government has taken up
multiple actions. The primary steps that has been taken up by the government is to
increase subsidies for the common people who are not capable of maintaining a
healthy lifestyle. In addition to this, the government has come up with flexile
taxation policies in order to combat with the increasing issues of homelessness.
Main Point 2: Lack of Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle
A) It is also to be mentioned that the sociologists have monitored that along with the
increasing cases of homelessness the common people of the United States are
often finding it difficult to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Aggravating the scenario of
the unhealthy lifestyles, the survey reports have pointed out that the common
people of the country are often lacking the ability to address their nutritional
needs. As a result of this, the incidents of severe malnutrition and hunger are
increasing in an alarming rate (Bassuk et al., 2014). Moreover, it is also to be said
that the increasing number of immigration is aggravating the matter to a great
extent. Hence, it is easily understandable that the country at present is in high need

of cooperation from the citizens of the United States. It is widely understandable
that the country has a huge population and at present it is fighting with the severe
problem of homelessness, malnutrition and hunger (Schwartz, 2014). In order to
help the government to overcome the situational many non-governmental and
non-profitable organizations are coming up and taking up significant roles. One of
the most recognized non-profitable organizations that are working towards
providing secured future of the common people, is Hope House (Schwartz, 2014).
B) In addition to this it can also be monitored that the immigrants and the people
belonging to the marginalized sections are facing difficulties in order to support
their basic livelihood ad are failing to arrange for the basic amenities. Hence, it
can be understood that the government as well as various other organization needs
to come up and collaborate in order to tackle the situation (Williams, 2016).
Hence, in this scenario the common people and citizen of the country are
requested to come forward and join hands so that the Hope House can function
more effectively and cater to the needs of the community. It is understandable that
the non-profit organizations work towards the betterment of the society and aims
at eliminating the problems that are affecting the common people of the country.
However, it is also to be understood that these organizations are highly dependent
on the cooperation and help of individuals and organizations. In addition to this,
as per the present scenario it can be said that the problems of homelessness and
malnutrition is emerging as a severe threat to the country (Willse, 2015). Hence, it
can also be understood that the problems if not addressed immediately can affect
the society to a great extent. In addition to this it can also be said that the problems
of homelessness and growing poverty are affecting the economy of the country to
a great extent. As the rates of stable income is decreasing, the buying and

consuming capability of the country is also reducing to a great extent. In this
regard, it can be understood that the common people as well as the government
needs to come up with better strategies that can help in addressing the issue.
Conclusion
1. Review of Thesis: The charitable organization is working extensively in order to
combat with the problems of homelessness and aims at eliminating the chances of
malnutrition and problems of hunger.
2. Review of Main Points: Hence, to conclude the speech it can be said that in order to
combat with the increasing problems of homelessness and malnutrition. To combat
with the scenario, support from the common people is highly sought after. As it can
be understood that Hope House being a non-profitable organization needs support
from the citizens of the United States.
3. Call to Action: Hence, it is earnestly requested that the common people can donate
according to their capabilities and help Hope House to thrive towards a poverty free
society.
