ABSTRACT
This report is basically a literature review on Honest Burgers. There is its history and

Honest Burger’s home-made rosemary salted chips. Pubs and restaurants in various areas of the
United Kingdom have been – and continue to be – forced to open and close based on case rates,
with similar scenarios likely in Germany, Italy, and other countries employing a localized
response to combat the pandemic. This report also covers new challenges of COVID-19 created
for restaurants, such as determining how many employees are required for working in the
restaurant for maintaining social distance.

PRESENTATION OF DATA
How COVID-19 has impacted over success of Honest Burgers Ltd?
According to Honest Burgers (2017), it has been determined that like other brands of
restaurants, Honest Burgers Ltd has also seen many unforeseen difficulties due to wave of
COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 pandemic has created unexpected stress on food system of
Honest Burgers Ltd as well as created many immediate challenges. Basically, due to restrictions
imposed by Government of the United Kingdom Honest Burgers Ltd had to shut down its
business operations as well as close all the branches of the restaurants. It has negatively impacted
the operations of the whole restaurant as they were unable to fulfil demands of the customers.
This has directly impacted the success of the restaurant because they were not able to earn

Figure 1: COVID-19 has impacted on resturents
The restaurant has reported high rates of employee absences because they were afraid of
global COVID-19 pandemic. It has also seen that meat processing facilities in the different
regions of the United Kingdom worst hit by global pandemic COVID-19. It has seen that
COVID-19 clusters have found in meat processing plants in the country. Employees generally
work in close proximity to each other in the restaurant, making it more tough to respect physical
distancing needs. There are also some cases in which employees working in the restaurant live
together in overcrowded situations, which also facilitates the spread of the virus. The procedure
of meat processing is more sensitive than any other kinds of food processing because of the
labour intensive nature of operations (Kim, Bonn and Cho, 2021). There are many meat
processing plants in the United Kingdom that have shut down and also forced these plants to
operate at reduced capacity.
Honest Burgers Ltd has also seen drastic shift in consumer demands due to COVID-19.
This global pandemic COVID-19 has led customers away from restaurants. Consumers have
started consuming homemade food rather than ordering food from restaurants due to social
distancing norms because of pandemic COVID-19 (Elshaer, 2021). It has also seen that as soon
as COVID-19 pandemic had gathered pace, sales of Honest Burgers Ltd had also collapsed or
decreased. Honest Burgers Ltd had also seen declined reservations as soon as lock-downs were
enforced.
What are the ways adopted by Honest Burgers Ltd for overcoming the impact of COVID-19 on
their business success and growth?
According to Competition of Honest Burgers (2019), the staff of Honest Burgers are
generally known as family of the restaurant. The workers of the restaurant operate with the
defined values such as simplicity, uncompromising on quality of food, operate collaboratively
and champion old school hospitality. These are the values that can be easily seen in those who
stand behind a grill to those who stand behind a desk. For keeping this family running like the
tight-knit and efficient machine they are, Honest Burgers was able to leverage workplace from
Facebook and the Bot platform for creating a suite of automated methods and tools available to
everyone within their company (Dedeoğlu and Boğan, 2021).
