ABSTRACT This report is basically a literature review on Honest Burgers. There is its history and how it come up with all the challenges and managed to work effectively. Honest Burger’s first Brixton restaurant opened its doors, simply because Honest Burger wanted everyone to try Honest Burger’s home-made rosemary salted chips. Pubs and restaurants in various areas of the United Kingdom have been – and continue to be – forced to open and close based on case rates, with similar scenarios likely in Germany, Italy, and other countries employing a localized response to combat the pandemic. This report also covers new challenges of COVID-19 created for restaurants, such as determining how many employees are required for working in the restaurant for maintaining social distance.

Honest Burgers Ltd is a selected organisation for the current literature review. Honest Burgers Ltd opened in the year 2011 in Brixton Village, London. This restaurant was opened 10 years ago with the motive of making customers feel like home while eating in that place. This business was set up by Tom Barton, Phil Eles and Dorian Waite with a single goal of fresh and high quality of British Burgers. The company focuses on providing warm atmosphere to all its customers so that they can grab their favourite burger with family and friends (Lakshmi and Shareena, 2020). It sells high quality burgers and fries.Honest Burger does not mean to brag, but this company is all about high-quality beef, the best potatoes, and having a good time. PRESENTATION OF DATA How COVID-19 has impacted over success of Honest Burgers Ltd? According to Honest Burgers (2017), it has been determined that like other brands of restaurants, Honest Burgers Ltd has also seen many unforeseen difficulties due to wave of COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 pandemic has created unexpected stress on food system of Honest Burgers Ltd as well as created many immediate challenges. Basically, due to restrictions imposed by Government of the United Kingdom Honest Burgers Ltd had to shut down its business operations as well as close all the branches of the restaurants. It has negatively impacted the operations of the whole restaurant as they were unable to fulfil demands of the customers. This has directly impacted the success of the restaurant because they were not able to earn revenue as well as any additional profits. Honest Burgers Ltd has affected by several rules and norms of social distancing, by employee shortages due to sickness and due to lock down measures for controlling the spread of the virus (Nhamo, Dube and Chikodzi, 2020). The restaurant has reported high rates of employee absences because they were afraid of global COVID-19 pandemic. It has also seen that meat processing facilities in the different regions of the United Kingdom worst hit by global pandemic COVID-19. It has seen that COVID-19 clusters have found in meat processing plants in the country. Employees generally work in close proximity to each other in the restaurant, making it more tough to respect physical distancing needs. There are also some cases in which employees working in the restaurant live together in overcrowded situations, which also facilitates the spread of the virus. The procedure of meat processing is more sensitive than any other kinds of food processing because of the labour intensive nature of operations (Kim, Bonn and Cho, 2021). There are many meat processing plants in the United Kingdom that have shut down and also forced these plants to operate at reduced capacity. Honest Burgers Ltd has also seen drastic shift in consumer demands due to COVID-19. This global pandemic COVID-19 has led customers away from restaurants. Consumers have started consuming homemade food rather than ordering food from restaurants due to social distancing norms because of pandemic COVID-19 (Elshaer, 2021). It has also seen that as soon as COVID-19 pandemic had gathered pace, sales of Honest Burgers Ltd had also collapsed or decreased. Honest Burgers Ltd had also seen declined reservations as soon as lock-downs were enforced. What are the ways adopted by Honest Burgers Ltd for overcoming the impact of COVID-19 on their business success and growth? According to Competition of Honest Burgers (2019), the staff of Honest Burgers are generally known as family of the restaurant. The workers of the restaurant operate with the defined values such as simplicity, uncompromising on quality of food, operate collaboratively and champion old school hospitality. These are the values that can be easily seen in those who stand behind a grill to those who stand behind a desk. For keeping this family running like the tight-knit and efficient machine they are, Honest Burgers was able to leverage workplace from Facebook and the Bot platform for creating a suite of automated methods and tools available to everyone within their company (Dedeoğlu and Boğan, 2021).
Honest Burgers Ltd has focused on creating multiple bots and updating the flows on ones they were already considering to assist address their urgent business and communication requirements. One of the two frequently used bots are: Honest Collaborator and Honest College. These two have become greatest vehicles for effective communication around global pandemic COVID-19 and also assisted in performing multiple functions. This was adopted for reducing the number of employees who are ill but still showing up at work. The nation investment is very low and therefore several people are investing in this type of business model. DISCUSSION According to the accumulated information in the section of literature review it is discussed that Honest Burgers had come up with certain COVID-19 policy for reducing all the negative impacts. Every employee of the restaurant has been provided guidance about the way to safely travel to and from workplace. This included on planning journeys, suggestions and recommendations during travel (Byrd and et. al., 2021). Every employee is also provided with face coverings or face masks, which need to be worn while travelling to and from work. All employees have staggered finish and start times for eliminating congestion at entrance and exit to Honest Burger restaurants. Honest Burgers Ltd has also focused on screening each employee as well as customer entering Honest Burger premises and restaurant (Richards and Rickard, 2020). The restaurant undertakes daily health screening questionnaire for establishing if they are experiencing any type of coronavirus symptoms or not. Honest Burger has only give permission to business critical employees and contractors into the premises of the restaurant. Honest Burger had arranged a site- specific risk assessment undertaken for identifying hazards and risks from the Coronavirus (Song, Yeon and Lee,2021). Measures have also put in place for eliminating or decreasing the likelihood of contracting global pandemic COVID-19. Honest Burgers Ltd had adopted contactless mode of payment for reducing the physical contact with the customers. Hand sanitisers and hand towels have been placed by each food and payment collection point. So that customers as well as employees could sanitise their hands before doing their work. Honest Burgers Ltd has set working zones for decreasing the chance of transmitting or contracting COVID-19. The restaurant has set number of workers working in the kitchen quite minimum (Kee and et. al., 2021). Face masks have been provided to each employee while carrying out their work.
