Hospital Database Management System software is being developed in order to ease out
many processes of the hospital. The main aim of this software is to replace the traditional file
systems which used MS-Excel, Office, etc.
The software will help in easy recording and viewing of the patient’s information. Along with
this the software will also record all the necessary information of the hospital staff.
The database will keep a track of the resources related to patient and staff of the hospital.
The individual can also register through online medium by using the login criteria installed in
the system. The administrator server will keep check and control over this database.
The main objective and goal of this software is to reduce the time in searching file. File
missing phenomena won’t repeat in the hospital with the help of this system.
This system will provide a unique ID in order to access the database and hence, it can be said
that the software is very user friendly and can be used very easily.
Functional and non functional requirements
Functional requirements
Registration: The software will help to register the user in the hospital system.
Login: A unique ID will be provided with passwords to the registered users. After the session
is completed the user can use the log out option to end the session.
Search option: This will help in searching ten exact detail related to a patient or staff
member with the help of the ID provided. Hence, this will save a lot of time which was
earlier consumed by traditional file system.
Maintenance: The software is user friendly and will help to make amendments in any detail
of the user [1].

Patient information: Doctors as well as patients can examine their medical information very
easily. Apart from this the bed number of patient, the doctor attending the patient and such
other information will be available on the database.
Database: The system will use Microsoft Access in order to carry out the software activities
[2].
Non Functional Requirement
Performance: the efficiency of the hospital staff will increase with the help of this software.
Any information will be available just a click away. The capacity is unlimited and n number
of information can be recorded by using this software.
Security: High level security is offered by this software as a unique ID is generated for every
user and with the help of that ID only the information can be accessed. Hence, confidentiality
is maintained by this software. Any modification in the information can only be done by the
user.
Availability: The system will be active 24/7 hence it can be used by the user at any time.
Quality: The quality of the software is good and has the ability to fix bugs if any [3].
Back up: the software offers great capability to back up the information being updated in the
system.
Usability: the software can be used by the user at anywhere and on any device under the
reach of user [4].
