The vice president of Human Resource stays aligned with the current and future
government agency rulings by keeping a close track of the systemic implementations. The
vice president stringently monitors the effect of ACA and the consecutive impact it elicits on
the hospital. Practice managers are responsible to maintain a smooth negotiation process and
must be dynamic in order to cope with the organizational change and assimilate it within the
hospital administration. In order to deal with the mentioned issue of declining reimbursement,
the hospital administration must take steps to maintain cost effectiveness and hospital
employment so as to sustain the healthcare sector.
How are the medical coding and billing functions affected? What training and
development are needed?
With the modification in the Patient Care and Protection Act, the structure of the
medical coding and billing is reported to change. According to the reform the hospital; would
now follow the ID10 system of coding which would also lead to an alteration in the ratio of
government medical aid is to patient payment.
In order to effectively train professionals, informative workshops would be arranged
so that the officials are able to gather knowledge about the new coding system and
appropriately perform medical coding and billing functions. The informative workshops
would highlight the laws and policies associated to the change in the coding system and
accordingly train the employees to adapt with the reformed process (Fallon et al., 2013).

The vice president of the Human Resource is concerned with job responsibilities
related to employment laws and policies, organizational development, employee
reimbursement and recruitment and staffing (Arbab Kash et al., 2014). On the contrary, the
Vice president of accounting primarily deals with accounting operations and transactions.
Since the concern was related to employee training and organizational benefit the hospital
administrator chose the vice president of Human Resources to perform the duties.
