MANAGEMENT2 Introduction This report concerns about leadership qualities and characteristics which are necessary for making an individual a perfect leader. A leader with well qualities has the ability to positively change the business world and society. Hurduzeu (2015) defined leadership as the capability to boost others to attain goals collectively and actively while being a role model of all the groups and employees within the organisation. They are also responsible to direct employees towards the right direction and in this study, I will also use trait theory to describe leadership while stating how leadership qualities can implement in individual and professional life. Trait Theory of Leadership The trait theory of leadership is known to be as one of the first modern theory of leadership based on the characteristics of various leaders both successful and unsuccessful, used to anticipate effectiveness of leadership (Landis, Hill & Harvey, 2014). We can assess our both strength and weakness with using of this theory and in relation with various leadership traits, I have skills to run a business successful with having capability of quick decision as well as right level of energy. At present, I am working in a local grocery shop and I can only help the customer in finding their needed product when I actually know the proper place of all the products in the store and I also must possess necessary business ethics to communicate and handle the customers effectively. In relation with the skill of quick decision making, it can be found since my learning in the education as like in one of the event, me and my friends are working on a project and I always decide upon the necessary resources required to complete the project while directing the team members in the same way and hence, I always get appreciated by teachers and my friends to successfully complete the work before the time limit. The next trait is the energy, I am currently a student and also employed
MANAGEMENT3 as a job in store, I managed to take personality development classes at the late night and I also do manage all my responsibilities daily with full energy. I also do multitasking while effectively taking the responsibility of all my work. The one character that matches to my individuality and does not includes in the trait theory of leadership is politeness and I believe that it intensifies harmony among all relationships benefitting employees and team members to share their concerns without any fear. Some of the leaders who do not give due importance to these characteristics and just focus on the goal without considering the employee feelings and concerns may face disrespect from the side of employees (Rose et al, 2015). While analysing all above traits, I can become a successful leader but not great leader as due to lack of some useful characteristics and skills. All the characteristics I stated above is significant for a leader to be successful as a leader cannot attain success in absence of rational business knowledge and appropriate energy level for accomplishing a definite task as energy is a crucial attribute for a good leader for raising productivity (Edwards, 2015). Although, I must require to learn and attain some necessary traits for becoming a great leader. Situational, Transformational, and Servant Leadership In situation leadership style, a leader required to adjust himself as per the different contexts in the business environment as well as employee needs (Ramchunder & Martins, 2014). In my opinion, it is challenging for a leader to change their style and administer the work as per the employees, however, it is also beneficial for an enterprise to offer an eased environment to employees. In relation with transformation leadership, a leader brings out positive change with raising the confidence in employees (Amanchukwu, Stanley & Ololube, 2015) and according to me, this leadership style develops drive and inspiration for the staff in relation with development of the organisation. Lastly, in servant leadership, a leader serves

According to me, all leadership styles are significant and needed in different situations and environment. In other words, each leadership style has its unique value at different places and every business required a leader to be effective and possessing unique skill sets to raise their revenue and productivity and direct its employees in right direction as per the skills and abilities. In relation to above three leadership styles, there is a situation where I have shown servant leadership and at the time of my last semester. My management tutor offers our team a project (five members’ team) and five topics each. We all started to work upon project, however, in between, one of the team members felt sick and he shows his incapacity to complete his topic of the project and this makes other team members object on him. Although, I convinced them to show some care to him and divide his work on other left team members. Later on, it was decided at right and we all completed the project by our-self and before the deadline and this also makes our tutor happy. Identify a Leader with positive and negative traits In relation with a leader with negative traits, Trumps embodies the best definition of a bad leader causing US power to collapse, trade wars, tariff hikes, fall in tourists to the US and taking of fake credit or various different works. He shells his own nation to gain power and money. As per the report, nearly half of Americans say Trump has had negative influence on environment (thehill.com, 2019). Trump mostly manages with coercive power – fear – and such a leadership style is all too usual in formally appointed business leaders. In relation with a leader with positive traits, Sundar Pichai is the best example of being a noble and best

The key attributes of his leadership style include prioritization, business vision, excellent communication, people focus and attention to detail. Mr Pichai clearly has this in his leadership skills set, which makes him an exceptional choice to guide Google into a future where they progress every life from the millionaire to the rural farmer. He reflects referent power while being a selfless leader and believe in making people around him successful. Leadership Scenarios 1stScenario– In this scenario, telling style will be beneficial for the employees as their confidence can be developed again with showing them the right direction and encourage him for accomplishing the task with full enthusiasm. 2ndScenario– In this scenario, one can use the approach of supportive leadership and I would try to discover the cause as of which she is going to depression and then I will assist her by making feel better and motivate to practice on task with full zeal. It can be done applicably with maintaining a friendly workplace environment. 3rdScenario– In this scenario, I would prefer to use participative leadership as in the situation, employees consider that the present system of reward approach is not well and so, I would try to know the needs of employees and as per that modify the reward system. 4thScenario– In this scenario, the best leadership which is preferable is participating style as all the employees are unhappy and so, I would like to encourage them while synchronising their individual goals with the corporate vision. 5thScenario– In this scenario, directive leadership style can work and there is absence of necessary directions and guidance towards the employees and hence, a schedule can be build

Leadership Profile There are several challenges in the path of leadership and from future perspective, I would seek to become a competent leader possessing high attributes and personalities different from a team. However, it requires me to learn and attain new abilities and skills such as decision making capabilities, strong relations with my group members and creating of friendly environment culture so that each and every employee can communicate with me or each other without any hesitancy. I would also like to showcase a polite behaviour under my subordinates and develop a safe surroundings for the employees so that they can work with full potential. I would encourage all my team members to help one another as they have to achieve one organisational goal and ensure that there is not sort of discrimination in the workplace with one rule for all include me as it will also help me to receive the rational respect from all the employees. In relationship with leadership style, I would prefer servant leadership which enables me to comprehend the emotions and feelings of my employees and therefore, serve greater leadership role in the team. I would also like to focus on embracing well listening skills in the team and make the employee feel motivated and comfortable while undertaking the project. I will never attempt to evade from my job role or earn unnecessary currency or respect from the staff and put great efforts to help and support the employees at any possible level. To accomplish the task or work positively, I would rather use persuasive skills and my sole aim will be the serving of society at a great level. The learning in this assignment helps me in self-awareness where I found my weak and strong role at the time of functioning on this assignment. For example, I know to learn what characters and attributes I do lack stated in the trait theory and for the same, I must be
