INTRODUCTION
There are number of task and activities that are performed with in hospitality industry and
it is crucial that it is correctly manage (Bagheri and et.al., 2020). Leadership and management
practices are significant for successful and effectively carry out business practices as well as
attain desired goals. There are different models of management behaviours and leadership that
will help in guiding to take correct decision. Hospitality industry is very complex and it consist
of different element that will affect the functioning of business. There are various leadership
model or style such as directive, supportive, participative and achievement and many more. The
behaviour and practices of management will assist in providing direction to employees for
successfully and correctly conducting business practices. This report is based on Damson Dene
Hotel. This hotel is consider as three start hotel and it is located in UK. This report will includes
different models and framework of management behaviour and leadership. In this performance
of General Manager of the respective company have been identified.
MAIN BODY
Hospitality industry includes various products and services that consist of food, drink,
lodging, event planning, transportation and so on. It is crucial that manager is effectively and
efficiently conducting business practices with the motive of attaining goals. Manager is
responsible to carry out different task with in hotel industry in order to provide better products
and services to customers. Models of management behaviours and leadership will lead to provide
correct and accurate direction to behave accordingly as well as correctly attain desired goals and
practices of business (Hussain and et.al., 2020). Manager can be describe as the perform who is
capable and potential for correctly conducting and performing business practices. It includes
accurate management of business resources along with employees. There are number of roles
and responsibility performed by manager such as motivation, training or development, direction,
controlling, planning, problem solving, decision making and many more. Effective and efficient
approaches that needs to be consider by manager with the motive of correctly and accurately
conducting business management activities. Different management behaviour and leadership
includes autocratic, participative, supportive and many more. These leadership approaches have
various advantages and disadvantages as per the overall situation. Damson Dene Hotel manager
have to deal with various issues and situation which will lead to impact on business profitability

and productivity. Wayne Bartholomew is the manager of Damson Dene Hotel and he is
correctly and effectively business practices as well as performing various activities in order to
meet with the need and demand of customers (Waqanimaravu and Arasanmi, 2020). The role of
Damson Dene Hotel manager includes resolving business issues and enhance potential of
employees with the motive of accomplishing set goals.
Autocratic leadership refer as the approach which is consider by manager in which
manager will have complete control over the decision and business task. There is less or no
inputs of employee in business decision making. This is also consider as authoritarian leadership
as in the top authority have major power. Autocratic leaders majorly take decision that is based
on the judgements or ideas that is they prefer most suitable. There are some benefits and
drawback of this type of leadership approach. In this the management behaviour includes very
commanding. In this type of approach manager are strongly focused on the command and in this
there is clear separation between leaders and team members. By considering this type of
approach manager is able to create highly systematic environment as well as it is very rigid
working structured. In autocratic management behaviours manager of company is responsible for
taking all major and important decision for business as well as manager have authority to dictate
work methods or processes. The drawback and issues of this management is that it discourages
creativity. It does not includes out of the box thinking. There are various strict rules and tends
with in the autocratic leadership and management approach. It is crucial that manager of
respective company is communicating the rules and policies of business in accurate manner so
that each and every employee have clear information. The major advantages of autocratic
leadership approach is that it is helps in taking quick and fast decision. Through this approach
manager is able to maintain proper and clear chain of command as well as able to provide
direction to employees (Kale, 2020). In Damson Dene Hotel, there are various situation in which
Wayne Bartholomew have to consider autocratic leader approach in order to manage business
practices. For example Kuba has created various issues with in hotel and it lead to have negative
impact on performance and productivity of business. In this Wayne Bartholomew has taken
disciplinary actions in order to correctly manage the performance of Kuba. Through this manager
of Damson Dene is able to manage the overall performance and productivity of Kuba so that he
is accurately conducting business practices. Participative leadership style can be describe as the
practice in which manager is consider the efforts and values of employees while performing

business practices. In this type of approach both manager and employees participate equally to
take decision with the motive of enhancing business practices. Participative leader is considering
the initiative or inputs of employees or staff member. In participate leadership approach,
employees are giving information and advice regarding business issues to manage so that correct
decision could be taken (Filimonau and Naumova, 2020). This type of approach includes
majority vote which is significant for determining the course of action which needs to be taken
by company. The advantage of this type of leadership approach is the decision of the manager is
most like to accepted by the employees as in this staff member contribution has been considered.
This is significant for improving the moral of employees as company is considering the views of
staff member. Through this employees will feel more valuable and boost their moral. By
considering the ideas and views of employees it will encourage creative idea for resolving
business issues effectively. Participative leaders and manager are helpful in boosting the moral of
employees as well as creating positive working environment with in the business. The major
drawback of this type of leadership and management behaviour is that it is very time consuming,
Manager will require more time to consider the ideas and views of different employees. Due to
this decision making process becomes very slow and it will impact of business productivity. For
example Wayne Bartholomew is considering the views of staff member during the modification
in the hotel. When there are more customer with kids with in Damson Dene hotel then this
company has taken decision to make required changes in the structure and interior of hotel as per
the requirement of customers. Through this approach, the issues guest is easy resolve as well as
respective hotel is able to manage the problems of customers in most effective manner. Due to
this the Damson Dene hotel is able to effectively provide better facilities to customers and this
will assist in developing strong relationship with customers (Rosete and et.al., 2020). By
considering participative approach respective company manager that is Wayne Bartholomew is
able to boost the morals of staff member. Due to this employees of Damson Dene hotel feel very
important and they will be able to contribute with in business practices. This will help Wayne
Bartholomew to maintain better and accurate relationship with staff member. This will assist in
retaining employees with in company for longer term and enhance overall productivity and
profitability of business.
Supportive leadership is consider as one of the most effective leadership approach as in
this type of leadership manager is providing complete support to employees. This is significant

for maintaining and developing strong relationship with employees. Through this it will be very
easily for manager to increase potential and performance of employees. In supportive leadership
manager is not only delegating the task of employees but also participating in the performance of
employees (Yang and et.al., 2020). Supportive leadership refer as the way in which manager are
working with staff member in order to direct and control the performance of employees. Through
this management behaviour it is very easy for employees to get proper direction and guidance to
conduct business task and effectively conduct organisational practices. Supportive leaders are
working with staff member until they enhance the skills of employees as well as provide proper
direction to employees for conducting business practices. It is crucial that manager of
considering the views of employees as well as providing the correct information to employees
so that they can successfully and effectively conduct business practices. Supportive leaders are
consider effective for improving overall performance of business as in this manager are willing
to identify and determine the changes with in employees (Heimerl and et.al., 2020). It is essential
that supportive leaders or manager have required capabilities in order to correctly perform
business task. Supportive manager should have effective communication skills as this will be
significant for providing accurate supportive and direction to employees. Supportive leaders
should have ability to prioritise the task so that required business activities can be successful
completed. Manager of Damson Dene hotel is also considering supportive leadership style. This
will very helpful in managing the overall performance and potential of employees in most
significant and effective manner. For example, Wayne Bartholomew is providing training or
coaching to employees as per their needs. This is effective for increasing their performance and
improving potential of employees. There are various issues and chaos created by some
employees of Damson Dene hotel. So in order to overcome this issues as well as resolving
problems Wayne Bartholomew is teaching employees regarding how to complete their work in
most effective manner as well as provide accurate direction for successfully completing task.
This is significant for resolving business issues as well as overcoming the problems that
negatively affect productivity and performance of Hotel Damson Dene (Nguyen, Haar and
Smollan, 2020). Through supportive leadership approach there is better and strong relationship
between the staff member and Wayne Bartholomew. Supportive leadership can be describe as
the significant for encouraging the teamwork with in business along with helpful in showing
commitment with business operations. There are various issues with in business that occurs due

to communication barrier. It is essential that Wayne Bartholomew is consider supportive
leadership and management behaviour model in order to successfully manage issues. Through
this approach relationship among employees and manager will be increase and it will lead to
have positive impact on performance of employees.
Team work is very important with in organisation as it will help in successfully and
effectively performing business practices (Darvishmotevali, Altinay and Köseoglu, 2020). Team
work can be define as the potential of a person to successfully and effectively performing
business practices with in the group of people. It is essential with in company they employees
have strong team work skills in order to effectively conduct business task. There are different
theories that is effective for proving direction for team work. Tuckman's theory is significant for
providing the information and direction about the different stages of team development. This
model was developed by 1985 and through this manager will be able to determine the correct
information for developing or creating a successful team. Through this theory it will be easy for
Wayne Bartholomew to gain direction for developing strong team with in company as well as
enhancing business practices. As per Tuckman's theory there are five stages through which
employee go and develop strong team. Forming is the first stage as in this employees will meet
each other and try to understand other individual. The main focus of each team member is to find
a place with in the team so that they are able to contribute accordingly. Once all employees
successfully pass through forming stage they move to storming stage. In this stage, team member
consider themselves part of the team as well as get more information about each other. In this
stage people may feel challenge in understanding each other or team leader. At this stage of
Tuckman's model there will be starting of conflicts with in the business. Norming stage is the
third stage of this model and in this stage all team member come together with the motive of
developing process as well as establishing rules (Yuksel, Cankaya and Cankaya, 2020). This is
helpful for resolving issues and problems with in the team and enhance togetherness with in the
team members. After this the next stage is performing stage and during this stage the focus of all
employees is on conducting task significant as well as developing strong relationship with each
other. At this stage, relationship between all employees as well as leaders will be enhanced.
During this stage the all employees work to attain one common goals in effective and efficient
manner (Sota, Chaudhry and Srivastava, 2020). The last stage of this model is adjourning, as in
this stage the team will be break as the motive of developing team is completed. At this stage

team member will enjoy their success of attaining objective. It is essential for Wayne
Bartholomew manager of respective hotel to improve team work and enhancing hotel

CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that there are different models which are
effective for providing correct direction. Management behaviours can be describe as the
activities and task that is performed by manager in order to motivate employees. Manager needs
to carry out various business practices in effective and efficient manner so that desired objective
can be timely accomplished. It has identified that different model of leadership and management
will be significant for successfully managing business task as well as resolving issues as per the
business situation. Through this the overall behaviour and actions of the manager will be
influence. This will lead to have direct impact on capabilities and potential of employees. The
major leadership and management behaviour model includes autocratic, supportive, democratic
and so on. All of these model have various pros and cons which will lead to have direct impact
on actual performance and productivity of business. There are number of techniques and
approaches that could be used by company for enhancing the overall performance and
productivity of employees such as rewards, recognition, monetary benefits and so on in order to
accomplish set objectives.
